If the 'good' word has been hyphenated and is shown as 'good-cop', then it won't work. But if the 'good' stands alone as a word, then it will :)

Sorry - I hadn't specified GR's main page for the books but that is the only way we have to check if there is an issue.

I would also accept Amazon's main page for the book.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Just a quick reminder that we are heading into the final 2 weeks of this challenge.

If your posts are not up to date (missing a selection post, or having more than 2 books outstanding) when I call the week 10/11 themes, I will remove you from the play. There will be no leeway in these last two weeks.

It isn't fair on your team mates if you fall too far behind.

I have also posted a status spreadsheet on all team progress to date. Refer to the bottom of post 1:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Please let me know if you think I have missed a post.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Week 10

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Clarification inserted for this theme:

To qualify - please insert a link to the GR author's page or some other reference point that proves that they live in or are from the UK. You may also quote the source, but please also include the link.

If the GR author's page doesn't specify location, and to insert a link from an outside source (hint: wikipedia is a good option), please copy the URL at the top of your web browser (ctrl c), and past the link into your post (ctrl v).

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Second last week everyone!!

Have fun 💥

message 108: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments Jane - I was looking at the themes on the first page - you didn't cross out Theme 6 which we read for during week 6. Not a biggy, but if people are looking at what's left...

message 109: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Ok - thanks LaurLa. Will fix it later 😊

message 110: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Nov 15, 2019 12:28AM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Not sure I'll be awake at 5.00am tomorrow, so the last week's theme will be posted at 6.00am my time ~ 4.00pm US EST.

Remember that Option 2 won't be the same as in prior weeks.

I will be randomly allocate which team members may pick their option 2 book from. Eg Team 1 might select their option 2 book from Team 9. I will show the team allocations in the theme post.

No-one can use the Pass option in the final week.

First team to finish all their books (from all weeks) will be the winner.

When the team believes all their books are complete, a member (not necessarily the Captain) must post in this thread that they have finished. I will then check the books & posts for fit and completeness.

The alliteration can be anywhere in the title and can have 'a', 'an', 'the' or 'and' in between the two alliterating words - eg Twisted and Tied.
No other words will be approved.

Option 2
In this final week, if you use Option 2 you must select your book from a member in the team below yours in the following list:
Key Date: May 17, 2019

Please select your book from a member in the team immediately below you on the list. Eg Team 8 selects option 2 books from Team 9. And Team 3 selects option 2 books from Team 8.

8 Re-word Me
9 And the Winner is…

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Dang timezones. The ONE time I didn't double-check...

message 115: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11348 comments Well, in this case since you said 4 PM EST you erred in the right direction - we just got the theme earlier than you said! 😃

OMG - its too early in the morning!! I meant to post your time 6am my time but then panicked when you said that. Clearly I didn't take it in. OMG. 🙄

message 117: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Remember - when you think your team has finished all books, post HERE so that I can check.

The first to post here will be the first team I check.

Fran | 12278 comments Does the alliteration count if there are words after it?

I would like to use- Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure

I would assume that would work, Fran...the rule says "The alliteration can be anywhere in the title" which to me says there can be more to the title than just the alliterative part. 🙂

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments And has to be the book title - not the series title. Just in case someone was wondering :)

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 2042 comments Jane (PS) wrote: "And has to be the book title - not the series title. Just in case someone was wondering :)"

Actually read a book where title series title and author are all Alliterative.

Haha - well done Roger. What's the chances?!

...Now you have me thinking ;)

message 125: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments No team is close to finishing yet so keep going!!

Also, a couple of members have made the mistake of using a word that ISN'T one of the following:

"a"
"an"
"the"
"and"

in between their alliterating words. ONLY the word listed above in "inverted commas" can be used.

Of course, alliterating words that directly each other will always count.

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 989 comments So I think something might be really wrong w/ Dale as in another team challenge I have, she has been MIA also. Since she hasn't posted her selection for last week, Do we need to do anything or drop out or what?

Hi Mamacita - yes, there must be something wrong. Another team is missing their Captain as well. Hopefully they are just super-busy.

Basically you can't win now since your team is missing a week 10 selection - but you can still read your books :)

message 128: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm signing off for the night. I'll be back in 12 hours or so.

I'm sure a team will finish by then. My apologies that I can't get on first thing in the morning, and do an update or check the posts. (We have to muster some cattle at daylight.)

One of the other mods may be able to finalise the winner if I am absent!! :D

Good luck everyone!
