Pass The Parcel Round 13 - Team 9 WON!

Sorry - I hadn't specified GR's main page for the books but that is the only way we have to check if there is an issue.
I would also accept Amazon's main page for the book.

If your posts are not up to date (missing a selection post, or having more than 2 books outstanding) when I call the week 10/11 themes, I will remove you from the play. There will be no leeway in these last two weeks.
It isn't fair on your team mates if you fall too far behind.
I have also posted a status spreadsheet on all team progress to date. Refer to the bottom of post 1:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Please let me know if you think I have missed a post.

Perfect! Thx!

Option 1
2. Booker prize
The Booker Prize for Fiction is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original novel written in the English language and published in the United Kingdom.
* Read a book written by a UK author.
No foreign language editions to be used when showing how your book qualifies.
You may use a novel written by two authors, only one of which is from the UK. If you wish to use an anthology, at least 50% of the authors must be from the UK.
To qualify - please insert a link to the GR author's page or some other reference point that proves that they live in or are from the UK. You may also quote the source, but please also include the link.
Option 2
Book chosen from a team member's shelf that was read on the date below or more recently and rated at least 3 stars.
Key Date: May 10, 2019
Please ensure you follow the format shown in msg 3 of your team threads. when you post your selection and completion posts.

To qualify - please insert a link to the GR author's page or some other reference point that proves that they live in or are from the UK. You may also quote the source, but please also include the link.
If the GR author's page doesn't specify location, and to insert a link from an outside source (hint: wikipedia is a good option), please copy the URL at the top of your web browser (ctrl c), and past the link into your post (ctrl v).

Remember that Option 2 won't be the same as in prior weeks.
I will be randomly allocate which team members may pick their option 2 book from. Eg Team 1 might select their option 2 book from Team 9. I will show the team allocations in the theme post.
No-one can use the Pass option in the final week.
First team to finish all their books (from all weeks) will be the winner.
When the team believes all their books are complete, a member (not necessarily the Captain) must post in this thread that they have finished. I will then check the books & posts for fit and completeness.

Option 1
3. Academy Awards
The Academy Awards, also officially and popularly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry.

The alliteration can be anywhere in the title and can have 'a', 'an', 'the' or 'and' in between the two alliterating words - eg Twisted and Tied.
No other words will be approved.
Option 2

OMG - its too early in the morning!! I meant to post your time 6am my time but then panicked when you said that. Clearly I didn't take it in. OMG. 🙄

The first to post here will be the first team I check.

I would like to use- Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure

I would like to use- Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure"
I would assume that would work, Fran...the rule says "The alliteration can be anywhere in the title" which to me says there can be more to the title than just the alliterative part. 🙂

Yes - it works :D

Actually read a book where title series title and author are all Alliterative.

Haha - well done Roger. What's the chances?!
...Now you have me thinking ;)

Also, a couple of members have made the mistake of using a word that ISN'T one of the following:
"a"
"an"
"the"
"and"
in between their alliterating words. ONLY the word listed above in "inverted commas" can be used.
Of course, alliterating words that directly each other will always count.

Hi Mamacita - yes, there must be something wrong. Another team is missing their Captain as well. Hopefully they are just super-busy.
Basically you can't win now since your team is missing a week 10 selection - but you can still read your books :)

I'm sure a team will finish by then. My apologies that I can't get on first thing in the morning, and do an update or check the posts. (We have to muster some cattle at daylight.)
One of the other mods may be able to finalise the winner if I am absent!! :D
Good luck everyone!

Has completed all books for week 11 😉
...And the Winner is
TEAM 9
🥳"
Obviously the final word is Jane's, but everything looks good to me, so Congrats Team 9 - And the Winner is...!

☆ Michaele
☆ Diane

How prophetic!!

There were a couple of other teams close as well, but Team 9 pulled it off!
Hope to see you again in February 2020.
Also, The Bachelor Team Challenge sign ups should open soon(ish). Just need to pull Kat away from Disneyland 😁

If the 'good' word has been hyphenated and is shown as 'good-cop', then it won't work. But if the 'good' stands alone as a word, then it will :)
