Hey all, I'm in need of some people, some beta readers, to pass a thorough eye over the novel I'm working on. All I need are a couple of people willing to analyze my work––with honesty––to tell me if my characters are interesting and genuine, my world and it's story appealing, and to point out any plot holes if they happen to exist. The plot/blurb is as followed:
A troubled but unassuming man, Marcus, becomes participant in a revolutionary experiment bent on discovering human activity in a new dimension. By "revolutionary" Marcus sees as nothing but "overhyped." He fears nothing from it––that is, until everything goes contrary to his belief. He crosses into that new dimension and finds a world rebelling from the global government International. It is a vicious regime thought to be under the influence of a Super-computer with self-awareness, and all the world, the world of Magnella, is fighting against its legions of androids and machines for their freedom. Such a world of this design has been cast into a primitive state, if it can be called that. But in the grand scheme of things, this reality is not as simple as Marcus and those he befriends will come to learn. A terrible truth awaits them.
It is science fiction, my work, and focuses a good deal on the characters who inhabit it. However, it is not without action or a great supporting story, but it is the twist at the end that really defines it since it sets up what will come after. The blurb above is hardly a description of my novel because it just doesn't do it justice: it's just a teaser. It would take me all the characters allowed to describe everything and I still wouldn't have enough. But I've put a lot (A LOT) of work into crafting this world and the individuals who fight for it, and if anybody is interested in betaing/analyzing it for me, just let me know. Thanks.
