Also, since we have it on the 26 Book Challenge, does anyone want to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe some time this year?

Brandy | 2535 comments Sara wrote: "Also, since we have it on the 26 Book Challenge, does anyone want to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe some time this year?"

That seems like a good summer read. I will totally participate, I have never read it, haven't seen the movie either.

Are we going to do a series or another trilogy next month? We will be done with both trilogies!

message 57: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments My husband has whole LW&TW set and has read them a few times and really enjoyed them. I'm down to read them this summer!

I like reading the trilogies, they've been fun so far, I think we should find another worthy series! :)

Yes, we need to start a new trilogy - I wanted to get enough recommendations - I'll post the poll for it today or tomorrow.

When would you guys like to read the LW&TW?

Maybe in June or July?

message 60: by Brandy (last edited Mar 11, 2015 10:55AM) (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments I will nominate for Trilogy:
Fallen Fallen (Guardian Trilogy, #1) by Laury Falter Guardian trilogy or A Discovery of Witches A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness All souls trilogy.

Stand alone:
Dark Places Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

I vote June for LW&TW

message 61: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments I have the All Souls Trilogy on my to read shelf, so I'd be happy with reading that trilogy. I also vote for June for LW&TW :)

What do you guys think about the Outlander series?

message 63: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
You know what else we should do? The Fox and O'Hare series!
There's 3 so far. Love Janet Evanovich. I still haven't read the 3rd one yet.

I haven't read the last 2. I read book 1 and also one of the prequels. I love the humor with the mystery/adventure.

Me too! It's a cute little series. I haven't read any of the prequels yet either. I didn't know there were any until I just looked a little bit ago.

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
What do you all think about for May? We might as well start thinking now :) I'll put the poll up mid-April.

message 67: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments just stand alone right?

message 68: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
Yep - just stand alone. We already have our series for the month.

message 69: by Nicola (new)

Nicola I'm going to suggest The Glass Arrow

message 70: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments I am debating on 2 different suggestions.
1. The Law of Moses The Law of Moses by Amy Harmon
2. Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography Neil Patrick Harris Choose Your Own Autobiography by Neil Patrick Harris

message 71: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments I'll suggest:

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

or:

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil A Savannah Story by John Berendt

message 72: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments question: how will May work? We have 2 new series going but also finishing up End of Days. Will one of the books get bumped to June or will there be 3 series reads?

Brandy wrote: "question: how will May work? We have 2 new series going but also finishing up End of Days. Will one of the books get bumped to June or will there be 3 series reads?"

I was originally planning on bumping one of the series we started this month to June, but the 3 series isn't a bad idea though. We can do 3 series reads and 1 stand-alone.

message 74: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments We could always bump Red Queen again since the second in the serious won't be out until 2016. Then we'd be finishing up End of Days, reading Seraphina #2 and starting the All Souls Trilogy plus a stand alone, did I miss one? I feel like I'm missing one :) ..

message 75: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
I think you got them all.

We could do that too. Finish up our three series and 1 standalone.

When do you want to push Red Queen to?

message 76: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments We could cancel the May stand alone poll, do the 3 series and Red Queen there. It is still 4 books. or
Red Queen was listed as a bonus read so it doesn't really need to be moved if you don't want to.

message 77: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments We could put into June, so far I think we just have the LW&TW going on.

message 78: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments I'm good with that too Brandy!

message 79: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (last edited Apr 10, 2015 10:12AM) (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
I like both ideas.

Let's do 3 series and Red Queen. How does that work?

message 80: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments Works for me!

message 81: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments sounds perfect!

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
Since we're going to do the LW&W in June - would you want to turn that into a series-read and read all 7 books?

Also has anyone read The Mysterious Benedict Society (The Mysterious Benedict Society, #1) by Trenton Lee Stewart

What do you think about the Neil Patrick Harris book as our Stand Alone? It seems like a fun, easy read.

message 88: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments Sara wrote: "Have anyone read the Red Rising series yet? 2 books are out already."

It is on my to read list and I bought it on sell awhile back. Should I be reading it sooner rather than later?

message 89: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments It's on my to read shelf as well, it sounds entertaining!

message 90: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
I've only read the first one myself - but I kind of liked it! I wouldn't mind reading the second book eventually. Maybe we could turn this into a new series read and we can read them together. I own the first book so I can re-read it to help me remember for the second book.

message 91: by Nicola (new)

Nicola I haven't read the series yet but I own book 1 so I'd be happy to have it as a series read!

Does anyone have any other suggestions for June?

So far we have: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

We will need a new series and two stand alone's for this next month.

message 93: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments We could add the Red Rising series as we all thought we'd like to read it.

Margery Blue | 10 comments How about the INKHEART trilogy,
AN EMBER IN THE ASHES,
And a classic, for example JANE EYRE?

message 97: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments I am going to throw out a nice YA for some youthful fun. Series Dark Elements starting with book 1 White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Stand Alone, I am thinking maybe another crazy read with Gillian Flynn's Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

message 98: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
Do we still want to continue with the All Souls Trilogy? There are still 2 more books. That will give us our 2 trilogies for June (including TLW&W)

message 99: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments I'm going to finish the trilogy, but it is up to you guys if you want to join in.

message 100: by Sara, The Meme Mod! (new)

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
Also, a couple other series to look at (though, the second books books don't come out until 2016)

The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1) by Renee Ahdieh A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas
