My name is Kanika Dhameja. I’m an avid reader and also a writer :)
I’ve written a lot of blogs. Lately I’ve written a novel for young adults titled “You are my Wonderwall” which is going to hit the stores pretty soon. It’s a story about unrequited love and I’m sure people will be able to relate to it.
I really hope to find the right audience here :)
Please watch the book trailer for my debut novel “You are my Wonderwall” here:

Thanks :)

Nicola Sara wrote: "Has anyone read Seeker (Seeker, #1) by Arwen Elys Dayton?"

I've read this and it has problems (mainly the setting is confusing and there is little explanation for some things) but I still weirdly struggled to put it down and quite liked it!

Interesting. I recently saw it when I was walking around Barnes and Nobles the other day and I was intrigued.

I was thinking we should read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn after we read Dark Places. what do you guys think? I've been hearing great things about it.

message 158: by Trina (new)

Trina (duskvamp) looks interesting

I have added Through the Dark for October. There are 3 short stories that go along with the Darkest Minds series. With that, it looks like we will only need 1 Stand Alone. We now have 3 series reads lined up.

Let me know if you all have any more suggestions for October's Stand Alone - I am going to put the poll up in a week!

Brandy | 2535 comments I would love something light or amusing.

message 162: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments I would be into Sharp Objects but I also agree with Brandy, something funny could be fun like : When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
or any of David Sedaris' work looks entertaining.

Or Christopher Moore. We have been reading darker stuff lately and a little light would be good. I need a chuckle.

Brandy | 2535 comments Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella or Fool by Christopher Moore (if you are easily offended this wont be your type of book. he is off his rocker, but I love it)

I read a couple of Sophie Kinsella's synopses, they sounded great too! I haven't read any of Christopher Moore's but I'm not easily offended, not sure about anyone else though.

October is full :)

For November it looks like we only have stand alone books prepared. So if you know of any series you'd like to start up, let me know. (Our current series' won't start up again until next year)

Has anyone read The Spook's Apprentice? The movie just came out this year. It's a series.

message 171: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments Yay! Since we've been on a Gillian Flynn love fest lately, she has a new book... The Grownup by Gillian Flynn

I saw that one! That might be a nice short story. It's only 64 pages I think.

Brandy | 2535 comments I am a little twisted so that side of me says Unholy Night by Seth Grahame-Smith , for a more mainstream book Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner

Sara | 3903 comments Mod
Yeah I think that'll be an easy read during the holiday

We'll make that for early Jan though - since we already have the unwind prequel and the second book during that time.

Time to think about January!
We need to choose one more book for January 2016. It's up to you if you'd like to start a new series or read a stand alone. Please give some ideas and I'll put the poll up in the next week.

Lindsay (linds0917) | 136 comments Truthwitch (The Witchlands, #1) by Susan Dennard or Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken ?

message 187: by Brie (new)

Brie | 569 comments I started reading The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater in a lull in between books but wasn't able to finish it. It's #1 in a series of 4. I did like what I read.

Brandy | 2535 comments Are we looking for stand alones or series at this point?

Stand alone The Law of Moses by Amy Harmon I love her style of storytelling and I need to get to this book ASAP.

Series Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Fever series, I just started a reread on this one but the series is awesome.

message 189: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (linds0917) | 136 comments I've been wanting to read the Fever series!

I just finished Darkfever, and the reread was even better than the first time around. Brie just started reading it too, you should join us even if it doesn't get picked.

We really could do either. By January we will only have 1 series, 1 stand alone, and 1 60 page Novella. So its up to you guys if you'd like to start a new series or just read a stand alone.

Great! I definitely will. I was just about to look on Amazon, then thought, "I feel like a have a copy of this..." And BAM! there it was on the shelf, so yeah, I'll definitely be reading this.

message 193: by Brandy (new)

Brandy | 2535 comments Sara,
if this doesn't win in the nominations would you set up a buddy read for the Fever series?

We might as well start early! We need one more stand alone for February. Recommend which stand alone book you'd like to read and I'll post the poll up in a couple weeks.
