Thamy | 36 comments I've started Artemis and I was really hesitant since scifi isn't my usual thing and people don't seem too excited about the book. Nothing much happened during the initial 16% but it's easy enough to read and I like the main character. I'm relieved this won't be a journey to finish, phew.

Thanks, Dorie. Here's another book I liked.

You know those people you enjoy except when they relate intimate details to you a little too loudly in public? CRINGE! That's Audra.
Katherine Heiny's new Standard Deviation is a lot of fun.

Oh, no! I hope you get it! I was afraid they'd reject mine since this is not my genre and I didn't have anything from this publisher for a long time. I'm not in love with the book yet, either. But I do hope you get it. :(

The Coppersmith Farmhouse/The Clover Chapel

Just wondering if any of you have received ARCs of these 2 books by Devney Perry via NetGalley. It has been almost 3 months and I'm still waiting for a response. I even asked NG a month ago to contact/nudge the publisher, but all I got was a NG reply of sometimes it just takes awhile. It has taken so long I read library copies when they became available, so for the first time ever my NG review is ready and waiting long before my ARC request was denied or approved.

I don't have the contact, but the situation has repeated way too many times for me lately with a number of other publishers.

Prepare for an education in comparative religion....took my time to digest the material.

It's really good to read an author that enjoys his/her research.

I agree I love his writing.

Thamy | 36 comments I'm almost finished with The Freedom Broker (Thea Paris #1) by K.J. Howe The Freedom Broker. This will be a hard review to write... I can't even say if the problem is me or the book. Though it's not really bad, it'll probably be 3 stars but rounding up. I just don't get that thrill while reading.
