Mesmerized (The Mad Morelands, #1) by Candace Camp

This is a reissue of the first Mad Morelands book which I've never read previously and was pleasantly surprised by the addition of paranormal in a historical romance. The publisher is re-releasing in ebook (plus MMP for book 1) all of the books in the series to lead up to the new release of books 5 & 6.

My review - 3.5 Stars

Melissa (thewrittenadventure) | 7 comments Just started No Cure for the Dead by Christine Trent. Only 6% in but it’s pretty good so far. It’s a murder mystery involving the one and only Florence Nightingale.

I have a bunch of other novels that I have requested. Has anyone noticed a delay in the acceptance or denial of their requests? I’m thinking it’s just because of the holidays, but I wanted to be sure it wasn’t just me.

PattyMacDotComma | 621 comments NOT your run-of-the-mill autism book about your brain and wiring and special skills, etc. This is a practical book that all school libraries and teachers should have and provide for students with autism. It speaks to the kid.

We all learn differently. Check my review of Autism and You: Learning in Styles by Diana Friedlander and see what your own learning style might be. And tell parents! [no archive date set on NetGalley]

O.K. this is funny, I'm at exactly the same place as you! I just told my husband "I don't know where this book is going or if I care" I am also underwhelmed and feel like starting another book that is my last one for January. We must be on the same wave length tonight!

I'm going to start Everything Here is Beautiful tonight. Both you and Thamy loved it, so I'm excited to read it.

Otherwise, I also have a number of cookbooks to review.

Wow, that is a glowing review :) I have to finish the book I'm reading now and then Alternate Sides and then I can get to this one, probably on vacation. Is is terribly depressing? I'm just asking because the one I'm reading now "Two Girls Down" is good but depressing and I don't want a depressing book for my vaca :)

message 946: by Mary Beth (new)

Mary Beth | 127 comments No Dorie, this one isnt depressing at all. It is so different than the books I usually read. Oh I was depressed when I finished it, because it was so good, and I wanted it to go on forever.
I was in such a great mood reading this, it really made me happy. I hope you feel the same way. We are all different on what we like but I really think you will enjoy this one.
