The Same Bright Stars by Ethan Joella
This book doesn't disappoint! Ethan Joella is one of the few male authors to write characters' emotions so well.

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments The Curse of Sins by Kate Dramis The Curse of Sins (The Curse of Saints, #2) by Kate Dramis was a disappointment... The first book of the series was ok, but this one rambled on and on and on....
(sure I would like to know how the story ends, but...)

Sherri Bryant (sherribryant) | 179 comments I started Twenty by Debra Landwehr-Engle on audiobook in an effort to get through my backlog faster, but I'm not really feeling it. I'll give it a few more chapters and if it's still not grabbing me, I will switch format before I give it a DNF

PattyMacDotComma | 621 comments This is South Africa during its time of turbulent change. The author didn't know she was a privileged white girl until her eyes were opened. It Wasn't Roaring, It Was Weeping: Interpreting the Language of Our Fathers Without Repeating Their Stories. It's quite a story.

Leslie (eserafina42) | 1 comments Some British history. An excellent look at what we actually know about the sexuality of Edward II and how it's portrayed in both non-fiction and fiction. Very eye-opening and somewhat disillusioning, as so many harmful stereotypes of both women and LGBTQ+ people continue to persist.

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments The Dragon in Winter by Jonathan Maberry (Kagen the Damned, #3) The Dragon in Winter (Kagen the Damned, #3) by Jonathan Maberry was just like the first two books in the series, slow.
Mostly telling the story, so it dragged all 592 pages.

But the narrator, since I both read and listened, did a good job giving life to flat characters.

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Excerpt) by TJ Klune Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Cerulean Chronicles, #2) by T.J. Klune

Had I known this was an excerpt when I requested it, I never would have, but worse, to this date I've seen it titled both ways on my NetGalley bookshelf.

Takes some trust away from the publisher (and the book) when they are inconsistent like this.

I didn't make an official review, just added a comment.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ (roshreviews) | 324 comments The Trial of Mrs. Rhinelander by Denny S. Bryce
The Trial of Mrs. Rhinelander by Denny S. Bryce
A book based on the actual Rhinelander vs. Rhinelander case in 1925 in the USA. Would have worked better for me if it actually focussed more on the legal proceedings than staying put on the outside of the courtroom.
