Predictions for End of Days

"It turns out that Book 3 will be the finale of Penryn’s story. There may be other stories to tell from other perspectives, but I haven’t let myself think too much about that yet. I originally guessed it would be five books (later amended to 3-5 books), considering how big the story and world were. But in the end, it turns out that Penryn's story will be a trilogy."

If this happens, I will wallow in a fit of disparity.
Even though I'm not emotionally ready for this book to end, I'm really excited to see the synopsis/blurb. Surely it will give us some hints as to what will happen in this book!

I admit, losing two books makes me fear for either P or R, because a death at the end of a five-book series would feel a bit more like a betrayal than a three-book series.
But... there's definitely stuff I want to see.

Please use spoiler tags because not everyone has read other series. If you don't know how to do that then please do not say how another trilogy ends for the love of god!!

Thanks!

i suppose most of us here would like to see a HEA for the beloved "Raffryn" :)))) Susan has already made some impossibles become possible, for instance, Penryn can wield Pooky-bear; and Paige can still keep her sanity after being altered into a killing machine. Let's not give up hope so soon :)))

I won't... I am still rooting for them both... the great thing is that Susan keeps us all hanging in suspense because we can't figure out how the hell they are going to be together when it seems impossible - but as the lady says "Nothing is impossible!"

I know, there are so many loose ends to tie up - I want to know what Layla was to Raffe - I am sure there will be spin off novellas or another book using familiar characters even if the story line is different - Wouldn't it be great if she wrote one in Raffe POV of the back history between him and Joshua and Beliel and Uriel and Layla?. It would also be fantastic if she releases the outtakes that she has written from Raffe POV in WA - I loved the whole Pooky Bear visions that Penryn has where she can see and hear what Raffe is thinking, such a clever way of doing a POV from a main character!
There is much to look forward to, I think!

I feel like one book isn't enough to tie up all the loose endings! I had this crackpot theory, in which Penryn's mum is actually somehow seeing a real demon, or her visions have some other, plot-connected meaning, but no I feel like there's hardly enough pages left to solve all the already open questions, let alone open up a plot twist...
And I just don't see a way for Raffe and Penryn to be together. I don't think Pen would become an angel, the books are too much about how she's human and proud of that (also remember that time when Susan Ee was asked whether Pen is Asian or not and she said that it's just important that Pen is human?). I also don't see Raffe falling, like Mel said, it isnt' in his personality.
So there are so many things impossible about their relationship. Like the fact that Raffe's immortal and Pen isn't. She'll die eventually of age. Or that angels don't live on earth (where do they live though? Heaven?). And of course the whole Nephilim and helllions thing.
I'm so desperately hoping that Susan Ee will find a way for P and R, because they truly belong to each other and are my all time OTP, but I don't see a way how... Maybe she'll surprise us with a super awesome ending that we all couldn't think of!

So, fingers crossed that she continues to amaze us.
I do, however, think that Gabriel isn't actually dead. Because his body has never been found, and in WA we found out, that angels aren't killed by bullets. So why would the archangel be different?
I'm pretty sure he's going to show up at the end of the series like

LOL I really love your GIF! And yes I am sure Gabriel has a big part to play in all this if he does indeed surprise us with his return!
I really can't imagine the ending so I hope Susan Ee has something up her sleeve (is it possible she could hiding the book up there too?). Ya know, I'm just hoping Penryn and Raffe both end up together, no matter how impossible.

I wonder if Penryn's mom is some sort of supernatural and her visions and actions aren't really all that crazy--they just seems crazy in a human world.

YESSS! I totally never got why the other angels think Gabriel is dead. Like, guys, you just dug your friends out of a bombed out hotel after they were shot and they were perfectly fine. And why would humans, living in a the most holiest of cities, shoot down an angel they believe is the 'Messenger of God' in the first place? Angels: super powerful and pretty, but not too bright. And A+ gif usage!

But I don't think Penryn is half angel or will turn into an angel or something like that, as so many suspect.
The reason for that is, that in the books, several time it is made clear, that Penryn is proud to be part human, that it's an essential part of the book that humans aren't as bad or low as angels think, and that Penrys likes being a daughter of man, no matter how bad their reputation is amongst the angels.
Furthermore, Susan Ee was asked which ethnos Penryn belonged to, or weather she was Asian or Caucasian, and she responded, that that didn't matter. That it only mattered that Penryn was human.
She said it was because that was what this books were about: angels fighting against humans.
And that she didn't mind which kind of human Penryn belonged to, only that she was human.
So, yeah, I think the emphasis on Penryn being human is a rather important aspect of the story's message... therefore, her turning into an angel would be disappointing, and I don't think it's what Susan Ee wanted to tell us...
But maybe I'm reading this all wrong!

Good point. The power of humanity is a really big part of the story. Which would make it an even bigger twist if Penryn turned out to not be completely human herself! Ha.
I agree with you that there is something to the whole demon thing that follows her mother.
It is probably all interrelated, but I just can't figure it out yet! grr.

I hope, however, that Susan finds a solution where Raffe stays an angel (falling isn't his style) and Penryn stays human and they can still be together! Because I need them to be together!!
I don't know what I'll do if they don't end up together... probably curl up on the ground and cry.
Edit: Oh, I also want Raffe to get his wings back. Don't get me wrong, demon wings with skythes are cool, but I just loooove feathers and white, snowy, angel wings?? So awesome!

This seriously is THE BEST YA romance couple I've met. ALL of the others seem to feature Complete Jerkface Boy meets Doe-Eyed Sap-for-Brains Girl and it's TWUWUV-INSTANTLY-FOWEVAH. Sometimes it sorta works if I suspend all disbelief, but sometimes it just makes me want to puke. There's only so much jerkface stalker I can handle, and seriously, the Universe Does Not Reward Ultranice Girls for Being Ultrasweet Stepford Girls. It's a really sick, demeaning message for both boys and girls if you think about it.
Just another thing that really, really makes Raffryn stand out.

- Completely innocent and inexperienced, naive virgins (and stay that until the very last book, even though they get together with the male protagonist in the first one)
- Dumb as hell
- Absolutely depended of their jack#ss boyfriends
BUT, I have to say that Raffe really stood out for me as well, because he wasn't - like you said - a total jerk, but he also wasn't one of those guys that are instantly in love with the girl.
Often I feel it's so obvious that the guy is in love with the girl and just acts as an ass because some stupid reason.
With Raffe, I got the sense that we really felt how he disliked this whole "daugher of man deal" and didn't just pretend to dislike her for some reason, but couldn't help but grow on her. And the fact that Penryn is so awesome makes it a lot more believable that someone like Raffe (because let's face it, he is a catch!) would like her. They are a great match and I think he can't help but appreaciate her intelligence and braveness and her wit.
So yeah, enough praise for these two, but I just can't help myself. Susan Ee created such deliciously un-perfect, fleshed-out, likeable characters. I'd honestly marry them both if I could :D

I just meant that most YA couples, from the way they talk to each other, sound like they would be doomed to a lifetime of domestic violence if they actually got married.
Raffryn... I dunno. They seem more like a team.

Oh god this made me LOL and maybe even snort. But it is so true. HE IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE ME A BETTER PERSON.

Ha! Personally, I'm particularly not-fond of "He's not abusive, he's protective." As Our Hero protects a girl out of any kind of personal life/ other friends.
But I REALLY HATE when Our Hero manages to tic off EVERY SINGLE RED FLAG on various "Is this a dangerous relationship?" checklists (See: http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/Abusiv... or http://www.safeplaceolympia.org/survi...)
And then somehow... I'm still supposed to be pulling for these two morons to get together FOWEVAH. (Or, I should say, three morons since there's always an obligatory love triangle.)
/rant.

Okay, if Penryn would end up with Obi, I would kill myself... at least my soul. I'd be an empty shell, traumatized...
So, yeah, you get the idea :D

I hope the cover/synopsis comes next! WEEEE!

After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.
When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

God, I need the cover! And the synopsis! I need it!!"
The synopsis omg!!!!
"...a startling revelation about Raffe's past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all"
I'm so excited!!

I want nothing more than a Penryn and Raffe ending together! But I can't see the logistics if (like you all said) Penryn clearly appreciates her 'humanness' and Raffe wouldn't fall.
Wow I'm asking a lot of Susan Ee. Still... this will be me if there isn't a Raffryn HEA.
