Hi Diana S., here are my recommendations for you. My favorites from Latin American authors are Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez, The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa, In The Shadow of The Angel by Kathryn Skidmore Blair. From Spain the wonderful The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. From the U.S. the incredible The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard, Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier and New York by Edward Rutherfurd. I loved Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese and Palace Walk part of The Cairo Trilogy: by [author:Naguib Mahfouz and just recently enjoyed Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan as a different take on WWII

I have read my book that June recommended to me. Thirteen. I really enjoyed it right up my alley as thriller/suspense. I gave this book 4 stars.My full review will be up shortly.

So glad you enjoyed it too, Diana. I would love to see all the recommendations from others. Would that be possible? John of Canada gave me quite a few, one of which I read (QBVII) and liked very much, giving it 4 stars, and another (Destiny of the Republic) which I bought and will be reading soon. What has everyone else read?
