Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments I don't really do horror but I'd love some recs in honor of Halloween. Now, some of the Romantic Suspense I've read have been pretty scary but I'm looking for something out of my norm.

Thanks in advance!

Lizzie (lizzierw) | 2533 comments Gothic romance books like Victoria Holt's can be creepy.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments I used to read a lot of Gothic Romance and loved VH and Phyllis Whitney.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Goodness. I haven't read VH in decades. I'm trying to think what of PW's I've read.

I don't know if I can come up with anything, Pamela. Not that I've read personally. I have heard that Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy, #1) by Mira Grant and the rest in that series is really good.

Cathy Spencer (cm_spencer) | 111 comments I hope you don't mind if I recommend my own book, Town Haunts. It's a mystery with elements of romantic suspense. Here's the synopsis:

"Cemetery caretaker Sherman Mason is horrified to hear his dead wife calling to him from her grave. He asks newcomer Tiernay Rae, a gorgeous witch and proprietor of the Healing Hands store, to hold a séance to find out what’s troubling his wife’s ghost. Tiernay needs a coven to focus her powers, however, so her roguish brother, Greg, suggests that Anna Nolan and her two friends help ‒ “the maiden, the mother, and the crone” as he calls them. But with Halloween fast approaching and the séance unleashing a malicious evil in the small town of Crane, can Tiernay stop it before someone gets hurt, or even killed?"

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Cathy, I fixed your two books in your An Anna Nolan Mystery series so they appear as a series here and also on your profile page.

Great that you have a pumpkin on the cover; people doing challenges in the fall are always looking for a pumpkin on the cover. :o)

Leslie (chibilee02) I don't like horror whether they be books or movies. But I'm more willing to read it than watch it. Lol There's always the oldie but goodie The Shining by the great Stephen King and its sequel Doctor Sleep. I've also recently became a fan of his son Joe Hill after reading NOS4A2 which I would also highly recommend. Seriously after that book, Christmas won't look the same way to me again. Lol
