Hi Kim, was "The Other Hand" accepted for Nigeria? I put it under England, but if it's good for Nigeria, I'd like to change it! :)

Hi Kim, I'm from South Africa and read this book while visiting my daughter in London, so I could relate to the African person in a detention centre in London as well as to the horrific happenings in Nigeria. I don't want to give anything away to someone who may read this who hasn't read the book; I was angry with the husband for "taking the easy way out", sometimes in London the woman seemed shallow and yet not when she was in Nigeria. The little boy was a welcome, lovable relief. I found it disturbing and thought provoking.
Your opinion?

I found it very thought provoking too- and the scenes in Nigeria will stay with me for a long while. I was also horrified by the stories about the detention centre. I'm ashamed to say that it had never crossed my mind that conditions could be like this.
