Sarah I sent you a PM about something that needs to be addressed :)

Could the part about letting your buddy read partner know if you're unable to show up be highlighted? I was just told off because I messaged someone that I won't buddy read with her because she's 'let me down' more than three times and I was even asked what I was doing in this group when I couldn't accept someone not showing up.
As I said in my original message, I understand that life gets in the way every now and then, but when it happens more than three times, I simply don't want to engage in a buddy read with those people. Most people are good at showing up or saying if they can't/changed their minds or whatever the reason is and I love buddy reading with those people. I just think some people need a reminder that if they can't show, a message would be nice. As always, you're doing a great job with this group and I have no intention of leaving and I understand that this is none of your fault, hence my suggestion :)

This is a no drama group...it stated that when you joined it. I Pm'd her to address it the professional way.

I know that I wasn't trying to create drama, but rather avoiding it by letting you know instead of just ignoring you, which I think would've been rude. I won't even defend myself, because there's nothing to defend. That'll be the last word from me on that.

How about a challenge where it's all about travel and culture. So like a few examples would be:

Read a book where the MC travels out of country
Red a book with a famous landmark on it. (I.e The Eiffel Tower)
Read a book where the MC speaks a second language
Read a book where the MC learns a new language
Red a book where the MC has to learn about a new culture.

etc. :)

Oh and you could do it during summer when people typically travel for a tie-in :D

Is there a summer challenge for this group? With a sign up for each month?

Thanks Bookbuyer ☺ I think one of our previous mods tried something like that before but we had the problem that it was difficult to find books that fitted the descriptions, as it often wasn't obvious where a book was set, or what languages the characters spoke, and because we ourselves couldn't think of many obvious ones (other than things like 'anna and the french kiss', we decided it would be too difficult. We have looked for ways to adapt it though ☺
