Another Sherlock Holmes mystery read and finished. It was indeed a very well written mystery but I found it hard to get into at moments and other moments I could not put it down. I loved how this one showed our great Sherlock a bit more caring than some others of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock stories.
It was a story I found easier to follow and to read than some of the other works. It kept my attention mostly. There are parts I skimmed that I found either duplicated itself, which in this story it did, or found not important to the story, like Small telling his story. Who cares. I found his story to be exactly repeating all the information that I had just read and i did not care hearing it for the third or fourth time in another perspective. I know it was meant to show that Sherlock was 100% right but I already got that feeling, knowing who Sherlock is and his method and we knew by the evidence. It just drawn the story out which was not necessarily needed.
I loved on how this story transitions the great Sherlock and Watson intona trio with Mary now in the picture. It will really test Sherlock and his friendship with John. Welcome Mary!
With all that, the overall story of A Sign of Four I have to rate at a 4 star rating as it did keep the reader interested and wanting more until the last chapter.
