New to group

We have several ongoing challenges that you can join anytime... pick and choose... whichever strike your fancy...

Categories for monthly challenge are usually posted a week before a new month starts.
Happy reading, and keep your little reptiles safe. :)

I also have one question, not to sound silly, but I was looking at the September monthly challenge and I was wondering what category #2 is specifically referring to. I'm anxious to start making my picks and see how many I can do, but I didn't want to get started with the wrong idea in mind!
Thanks bunches,
Stacey

Predominantly most of us here read romance novels, but we do dipped our toes into other type of books. The challenge categories are pretty loose, so you can basically stick to your fave genre or explore, depending on your mood.
Category 2 refers to Group Members' who are celebrating their birthdays during the challenge month. It's basically just another reason to explore another person's shelf and get ideas.
Here is a link to this month's challenge discussion thread:

Message #4 gives you the links to September Birthday celebrants' profiles.
Hope that helps.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Monthly challenge remains open all month-long, so if you feel like jumping in right now, even if its the middle of the month, you can do so.
There are also other type of challenges under the Other Challenges Folder. Some have specific end-date, some are open-ended and some depends on when you started. Feel free to browse and join any that interests you.
Furthermore, crosschallenging books are allowed, so you can read one book, and used it for maybe 2-3 challenges.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Definately going to try and do some of the changelles you have each month as well.

I'm from Sydney, Australia and I've no idea what it could be, apart from salad.

It is usually a desert formed from gelatin and some form of fruit. Note that a jell-o salad would never be found in a high society soiree. It is a small town america thing.
Before you judge too quickly, I've actually tasted vegemite. You have nothing to be proud of.

As to Vegemite, it is fantastic! I love it on hot buttered toast :)
I'm new to the group and goodreads as well. (Looking for goodreafs friends, if your interested). The challenges look like tons of fun. I do think a challenge becomes more personal with the type of books you pick out, compared to monthly group reads. I'm also looking forward to jumping into some of the conversations.

Hope you visit us often.

I have been on a romance kick so I thought this group would give me some great book ideas. I read 21 books in October ( Now I know why my house is a mess). I think I may be ready to try a reading challenge.

I can't wait to join some of the challenges soon :-P.

True that. Romance is welcome but not required. Actually, if you look at the stuff I read there's hardly any romance there nowadays...

My name is Tiffany and I just came across this group. It looks like it will be really fun to catch up on some of my books and to figure out which books to read for the challenges. I'm going to try to participate in as many as I can but I think I'll start with next month's challenges, as I have a lot going on this month between working 2 jobs and taking care of all the baby reptiles, since they are still hatching out. When do you usually post the challenges so that I can have time to figure out what to read?
