A Dance with Dragons discussion

It´s a bit like fortune-telling as GRRM is knowned for sudden twists and turns.

What, in your opinion, and having read all 5 books, will happen next? What would you like to happen with your fave characters? And that one´s you hate the sight of them?

If it's anything like the last five books, my favorite characters will be killed and my least favorites will be just fine. Damn you GRR Martin! :)

I think Arya will make her way back to Westeros, whether she goes to King's Landing first or Winterfell is anyone's guess. Either way you can bet lots of people are going to die suddenly and probably painfully. I hope we also find out about what Rickon has been doing.

What will happen to Jon???

GRRM said that, now that more POV characters will coincide in the same place, he has more liberty to kill off some of them.

I'm not sure I want to know what Rickon has been up to in Skagos...

I think Arya is going to kill at least one of the other main characters.

I really hope that Jojen's words will come true that the wolves will come back. And hope Samwell will find Daenerys and convince her to go with him to the Wall.

Brienne will die saving Jamie. Or she succeeds in killing him. Either way I lose one of my favorites and will feel betrayed by the other.

I am pretty sure that Arya's story will play out like a revenge tragedy, getting darker and darker (as we can see in her pre-released chapter from WoW) and after everyone on her list is dead (some by her hand, some not) she will realize what she has become and she will take her own life in the fountain in the House of Black and White, while reminiscing her family in her last thoughts

I am also sad to admit tha Aegon, is indeed probably a Faegon (hopefully a Blackfyre) and he will stay around in Westeros either as THE King or as King of Stormlands and Dorne (yes Arriane will be convinced) until Danny comes and the next Dance of Dragons take place, where Danny will prevail

oh and the easiest one is Jon, since we had that prologue in the last book. We will probably get a Ghost pov, similar to the prologue, until Melisandre brings him back in his body some pages in. Also he will be the one to lead the war against the Others

-Sansa will kill Petyr, and will end up as a ruler either in the North or in the Vale, highlighting her character development from the romantic naive girl to a hard pragmatic woman.

-The author of the Pink letter and what is happening at the Battle in the North is really confusing me and I cant get a grip around it. I am pretty sure though that this is not the last we have seen of Stannis and the battle has not yet taken place as implied in the letter.

-Jaime is bound to be the one to kill Cersei, so he will not die now. will brienne sacrifice herself or will she find another way to save him I cant tell.

-Last chapter of Danny, symbolizing her embracing her "fire and blood" herigage, so we can forget the "I want to be a good queen" phase, and move to "Danny the Conqueror" phase.

As a general vision for the end of the saga, I am expecting for the Iron Throne to be destroyed, and for the 7 kingdoms to be independent once again. Maybe Danny after dealing with Faegon and realising what her dragons did to the land she wants to rule, will just destroy the Iron Throne (DRACARYS!) and leave out the rest of her days with her dragons and whatever lover she has then somewhere east.

Ooh, I really would like to see Brienne and Dany meet. Almost as bad as I want her and Tyrion to meet.

I think Jon Snow isn't dead and if he is he will be resurrected by Melisandre. I think Brianne will have to kill Catelyn for the greater good. And I think Arya will come back to Westeros but with a different face and as a fully fledged assassin.

Everybody dies (at least my favorite characters). If GRRM keeps the pace, the last chapter will be just description of the landscape XD

R+L=J, is not even a theory anymore, all the evidence is there and no GRRM cant go back right now just because everyone guessed it :)

I sort of agree with you; that at least one of these two will die. But somehow I feel like Jaime might sacrifice himself so that Brienne won't die. He'll probably do it because she's honorable and honest etc. But really...I will be devastated if that happens since they are my two favorites.

I have this bizarre theory that GRRM is going to really upset the apple cart by doing something totally unexpected.

For instance, a mighty fleet of ships appears on the western horizon.......Westeros is about to be invaded and overrun by a matriarchal civilization with more advanced warfare technology.....firearms and cannons.

Okay, maybe not, but still fun to think about.

Yeah, like that. Maybe we should try a fan-fiction group effort to write the next two novels for GRRM. If he doesn't like the way things are going, he could just write the books himself to prevent us from taking further liberties.

Not that I am recommending this type of manipulative extortion......but it might work.

There is no need to be rude. We are all eager for Winds of winter. Everybpdy is allowed to have his/her own opinion.

Maybe you should lighten up a little, have some fun and then you won't be so angry, hostile and rude to complete strangers who are just having a good time. This is just fiction and if this series is never completed, I don't really care one way or another.

In order to be resurrected he has to die first... I can't help but laugh at Melidandre's shortcomings so its hard for me to envision her as the one who brings him back (assuming he WILL be resurrected), I think its more likely that endeavor will fall upon those more knowledgeable about the Old Gods.
