I suppose you can join more than one, but you have to truly believe that you can follow through with your commitment to read the books on time and participate fully in the group. Personally, more than one would be too much for me.
Once your group has had a complete "round" where everyone gets their book back, it's up to the group to decide if they want to continue.
At this point, we are not organizing or setting rules -- each group will run its own.

For everyone: I'm not sure where the groups have left off, so why don't we start the groups with letter "A" instead of a number, just in case there is already a PBC #10 or 11.

I seem to have an issue and just wondered so that perhaps people that are doing this won't be able to join other groups and do it again.
Our only problem had to do with someone dropping out of the second round. She had moved and changed her e-mail address, too. I think we had one lost book because of that.

did you ever get a reply. I am from Canada as well.

I'm terrified and need to find some books to read, or send.
*gulp*

Postal Book Club B is looking for one new member. We read all genres. First mailing date is March 15. Reply here or send me a private message.

Rhana, my group just filled a spot. We're about to start our 11th year. I think of the six of us half are originals.
If I hear of an opening, I'll certainly let you know.

1. Start a new thread in this folder called "Postal Book Club #xxx - OPEN" - use a number or give it a catchy name. By opening the topic, you are the default organizer for the group.
2. Post how many members you are looking for, and any specifics to the group (UK only, mysteries only, etc). You should probably post an email address or some other method for people to send you their mailing address etc.
3. If you are interested in joining one of the postal book clubs, post your name and contact info. in the thread.
4. Once the organizer has the required number of members, edit the thread title to read "Postal Book Club xxx - FULL" Your group can continue to use the thread for discussion, but people will know you are not taking new members.
5. Organizer collects all members' info and sends it out to the members along with the rules and mailing schedule.
For your reference, here were the original "rules." You'll need to modify the dates, and change anything that you like for your group.
Here's what we do:
--Pick out a book (300 pages or less, but no one will have a fit if it is 325) and a
notebook to record your thoughts about the book.
--I was thinking it might be fun to put a little bio about yourself on the first page of the notebook. If you are not comfortable with that, it is OK.
--Read the book, then record what you think about the book in the notebook. I think this will be an exercise where we learn as we go. For me, I know how I feel about a book, but putting it into words is different. I think we will all get better at it and as Jana said in one of her posts, be honest. I don't think we should worry too much about spoilers because we can always choose to review the notebook comments after we have read the book.
--Mail the book and notebook to your designated person on or about June 30th.
--Receive your book! And repeat the process.
Our mailing schedule is:
--June 30th
--August 30th
--October 30th
--December 30th
--February 30th
--April 30th
On June 30th, 2015, the book would return to the original owner, and we could start a second round.
