Jenny | 8052 comments I have a list with 128 books on it. How the hell am I going to choose what to start with? Aaaaaargh!

I will probably start the audio on one of the really big books, and grab the top one of the pile of hardcovers that I set up. Who knows?

It's a very good series. And very very populat too. Bu you probably already know that. I've only read 2 of them, but liked them a lot at the time. It's been a while now however, so I need a little refresher before continuing.

message 203: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments I'm sad, because even though I have a lovely red cover to start, it doesn't cover the other requirements for sin bingo :(

Duma Key by Stephen King

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Also, I am so tempted to get this for my Kindle, even though I already own the paperback, because that one is 801 pages, lol!

Good choice !
I haven't read Scythe, but people have been hyping it so much it's scary. lol You'll have to tell me what you think of it, and maybe I'll give it a try.

It will be my first Shusterman, but I've heard LOTS of good things.

Lol, I get it. I've done it a couple of times too. It's just so heavy, haha. And it's so difficult to not crack the spine when they are so massive! Also it's just too big to take with you when you leave the house.

I've read Dry by Neal Shusterman during the last team challenge. I believe Shusterman wrote it with his brother. I liked it a lot. Not quite a 5 star, but still a good 4 star for me.

I don't mind the heavy... I actually prefer to read the paperback. I usually only use the kindle if I can't get the book otherwise (my favourite fantasy author has quite a few books out of print, or at least really hard to get hold of!). I really don't like reading on it.

But soooooo many more points! lol.

Oh I get it now. Sorry, I misunderstood a bit ;)
Yes, sometimes I don't get why there's such a big difference in pages between the physical book and the kindle. Just, why?

I really recommend Scythe! And Shusterman is just a quality author.

I think Dry he wrote with his son.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hey team... sorry to be absent... Anyway... I'll be around for towers kick off... and then happily disappear till the 10th or 11th.

I'm happy with any strategy you think it's best - I promise I'll catch up to know what it was. I have a few books lined up:

As Intermitências da Morte by José Saramago A Kiss of Shadows (Merry Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #7) by Laurell K. Hamilton for sin bingo

and Shattered Bonds (Jane Yellowrock, #13) by Faith Hunter that works for a few sins.

Other than that, I haven't planned that much yet. Since I am a mood reader and I always deviate from the plan... I'm taking it one week at a time. Specially because it wouldn't be fair otherwise

*wicked grin*

I'm really a mood reader too. That's why I haven't planned much, either.
A Kiss of Shadows (Merry Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton has been on my TBR for a long time now. I wanted to finish the Anita Blake series before jumping into another Laurell K Hamilton series, but in the end, why wait? Maybe this challenge is the perfect excuse to finally give it a try.

Makes me think that planning ahead is maybe a futile effort. Hmmmm. Too late.

I am so curious what they have in store for us mini-challenge wise.

You noticed, uh?

Plan ahead, no worries.

Although... mini-challenges wise I only threw ideas into the pot... the stirring and spellwording was not my doing.... much. LOL

That been said. I need a new profile pic.

In honor of Jenny... I'm choosing this:

message 232: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments I need to stop telling people I am afraid of clowns. It opens up too many possibilities.

Instead, I will start telling people that I am afraid of...baby animals. And chocolate. And rainy days while at home reading a book.

Let's see if that works.

message 233: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments That is actually a pretty awesome picture! (luckily I don't have the clown problem, lol)

Awww, but baby animals are adorable! Look!

Try not to spit any of those beets out as you read that, they stain things rather efficiently.
