Of course, I just poured myself some coffee, and started one of the short KU books on my kist, and on the first page is this line...
"I'd always had an infinity for birds."
Really? Ever heard of an editor or a dictionary?

I can go find her!

Is this the book that had a rating of like 1.75 on GR? That might even be lower than ratings for Mirror: Awakening. LOL

Sorry, we should of put teams with the names when we added all of those to the suggestion list.
I'm glad you liked that book! It was one of my favorites in that series, though some people disagreed. But I think those people were just butthurt about Chaol.

WHAT DO I DO???

Be human and change your mind! If your character is literally hanging off of a cliff, go save her!
Queen of Shadows may not be a Sin Bingo, but it'll work for lust and is about 150 pages more than Thunderhead. So it's still more points.
Though it's a toss up. They are both good books. But I will say once you read Queen of Shadows, you'll want to read Empire of Storms. And then read Tower of Dawn and then immediately Kingdom of Ash. Warning there is a huge cliffhanger in Empire you don't get a resolution for until Kingdom of Ash.
Also, did you read The Assassin's Blade? It's the collection of short stories that takes place prior to Throne of Glass. If not you'll want to read that as some people/things pop back up.
So maybe you should read Thunderhead before going further down the Sara Maas rabbit hole. LOL

I agree... I really like Chaol, but I think that, in a world full of YA romances that are unrealistic, it's refreshing to see that sometimes love is broken, sometimes they aren't meant to be, sometimes things change the situation, and some relationships just can't come back once you're over the cliff. I think the dynamic nature of Chaol's growth has been fantastic, especially after Dorian telling him off over not accepting who they ARE over who he wishes they were.
Great book. I still like her Court series better, so far, but really enjoying this series. I also really like the introduction of Manon and Abraxos. Talk about plumbing the depths of character!

I can read both at the same time!!! :D

I'll read a little in each and then whichever grabs me I'll finish first. :)
Jenny wrote: "That's the one. There are of course some 5 star reviews as well, which inched up the overall rating. My mom would give me 5 stars if I asked her to as well."
Mom's are the best. I'd talk a good game about only giving a book written by Cameron the stars it deserves, but I'd probably give it five stars anyway. Because I can't resist his ridiculously cute face.
Especially when he was running around in his halloween costume for this year. Can't stand the cuteness. I think it's the only reason children survive to adulthood and aren't offed by their parents.

You don't need to remember much from Assassin's Blade, but having a vague knowledge of some of the characters will make some things that happen seem less random and out of the blue.
I was so annoyed by Tower of Dawn because of the delays and I felt it was a money grab. But I ended up liking some of the characters introduced in that book and they matter in Kingdom of Ash. But it could of been way shorter. Chaol's storyline was a bit boring, I found the side characters way more interesting.
Say what you want about Maas, but I will give her credit for weaving all these random storyline threads together and wrapping it all up in Kingdom of Ash.

I do believe it's the only reason they survive through the teenage years, when they stop being cute and start being wallet/energy/attitude-draining vampires with snark, acne, messy rooms, and lots of back-talk. Parents remember how cute they were and forgive. LOL!!!

I really like everything I've read by her. It's YA and has some tropey-ness (word creation!) but who cares? It's fun, her characters and plots have beautiful depth in many cases, and she's got such great worlds!

Totally true! Not saying that kids can be a pain, but I totally get why some animals eat their young, lol.

I really like everything ..."
I really like Sarah J Maas's books. She has been criticized a lot, but that's only because she became so popular, and some people don't like that. True that her books follow certain tropes, but like you said it's just so much fun. Who cares as long as you are enjoying it?

Well, on to book 3 !

Definitely celebrations! See you after it's all over :)

I will raise a drink to you when it is done.

Oh, and DIBS!!!!!!!

Now, if I could just get someone to give me a bunch of money so I don't have to work, then I could read a bunch of longer books!

Go Jenny, Go!
I'm halfway through mine for the week as well. Not sure I'm going to finish my audio clunker this week though. I still have about 20 hours and it's really good so I don't want to rush it. But listening to it just reminds me I need to catch up on the Age of Myth series too!
Michael Sullivan's books are all so good! With great narration!!

Probably. One thing I like about him is he writes the entire series, then releases them one by one. So no long waits, etc between books. And very few plot holes since he can go back and clean things up, tie up plot threads, whatever before the books get released.

I'm probably going to be a little less active over the next week or so. Parents are coming to stay for a week on Monday, so currently doing the "cleaning in all those awkward nooks and crannies that usually get overlooked" thing, and will probably be spending quite a bit of time on outings with them next week.
Also we're demolishing our shed tomorrow, which is going to be... fun..?
I should have no problems keeping up with my reading, but will just be around here a little less than I have been (because I haven't returned to work yet, and basically have no life outside of GR these days, lol).
I'm 3/4 of the way through my last book of the week, then will make a start on next week's chunky (slight understatement - 1300+ pages!) one.
Now off to shower dust and cobwebs out of my hair!

For the shed...print a picture of someone you detest, and nail it to the shed wall. Demolition will then be really cathartic.
