Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

No worries, Sophie. Just finish what you can. Real life takes precedence over a reading challenge and we all have weeks where we can't read as much as we planned.

Ok my lovely people...so I couldn't sleep (stupid insomnia) so I've been staring at our mini-challenge for the week. After some judicious searching I've got 5, 7 letter words found in the puzzle. (Found a few more to add to Minx's original ones) With everything we've already reported we're close to being able to hit that as a goal. So I was wondering...could every body sound off and let me know how many/what books you think you'll finish up before the call? I want to plan to rearrange things if I need to ahead of time.

I'm not super concerned about letters because the letters I have left to fill are pretty common ones. But if you can post what options I might have if there's a hidden letter one wouldn't expect in your book that'd be awesome too.

Granted I have no idea how much sense this is making since it's almost 6am and I haven't slept, but hopefully you're all getting what I'm suggesting.

I just posted my last one for this week, I'm going to a concert today so I won't be able to finish another one before tomorrow.

I don't really have anything that would work for the serials so I'll just read for regular ones next week!

I finished all my claims but I could fit in a couple of smaller books. :D

ok, here are the books I can fit in:

T - These Haunts are Made for Walking - Title starts with “T”
S - Mrs. Jeffries Stalks the Hunter - MC Smythe
D - Collateral Damage - Series start with “D”

If I can read more I will try but this is all I can commit to :D

I have a bit more than 7 hours of HP5 left, but if I don't get off work too late tonight I can still power through it as I listen to 1.5 speed :)

Incubus, I'm pretty excited I haven't seen them since I was a teenager!

So the only series numbers I have that high would a #5, #6, #9 or #11 & they are already taken. I do have a #15 but are we going that high? Also do we have to wait to start it until you finish the book ahead or can we start it & just not finish it until the ones before it are done?

So this might be a good time for me to read a Bad Book or work on any sin Bingos I have.

we can go as high as we'd like but Sin Bingos are cool too. :D

I don’t think I’ll be finishing any more for this week. Will work on 2 Sin Bingos for next week as I don’t want anyone waiting for me to finish a book.

so according to our working spreadsheet most of our books this week have already been reported to our official team sheet, but I can't find them anywhere? am I missing something? x)

The books are mostly on the spreadsheet at this point. There are a few more books to be entered but Shelby will have everything set by the time this week ends :D

No worries, I finished books 4 & 5 and starting #6 now, should be finished by the morning as it is a short one.

This challenge is actually the hardest for me because I only have so many of these books and I have many books left to read from my personal collection.

So I plan to read 4 books from this collection and the rest of my books from my personal collection for the remainder of this challenge.

ok wow, guess I'll finally read that copy of The Fault in Our Stars which I've had lying around for years by now! and I already downloaded the audiobook of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe! :D

other books I marked as to-read or I'm interested in are They Both Die at the End, Anne of Green Gables, The Nightingale, Dark Matter, The Humans, The Golden Compass, Dark Places, The Night Circus, If We Were Villains, Bird Box, Forbidden, Radio Silence, Pachinko, Girls of Glass, The Flight Attendant (this is just a list for me so I remember without needing to go through the book covers again lol, obviously I won't be able to get through all or even many of them as I still have some books to finish)

Also, Christina as they said on the Sinful chat thread the books can be started anytime but need to be finished after the 2nd and before the 16th.

Surprisingly, i've read very few of those books. Will see which I can get my hands on.

I've read a ton of those books too, there are ones I want to read but they are super long and would take me forever. I will look at it again tomorrow when I get home and try to find a few that I haven't read!

Ugh I've been dealing with the worst reading slump this week and it's also finals (grad student) but hopefully I'll be able to get rid of it and will be able to finish this challenge in good time!
