Great job everyone! Last week we read a total of 34 books for 1576 points with 2 BOM participants for a total of 40 extra points.
Our final points total for week 1 was: 1616
and we are in 13th position out of 16 teams.

Hi Mama, I don't see your book o..."
So I need to put it on Reporting thread not my name when I finish a book?
Damn sorry this is all so confusing to me.

Hi Mama, I don't se..."
Yes, just on the reporting thread. The one with your name was for your personal planning purposes. The reporting thread is easy too.

Just letting you know that I added more books to our Sin Bingos tab on the SS in case you are interested.
happy reading xxoxxo

Hope you feel better!

Hope you feel better!"
Thanks Mama

One book is still one book :D! Thanks for that and I am sorry you are still not feeling well. A lingering illness is the worst. Hoping you feel better really soon!

Mini-Challenge

Week 3 we will need to choose if our books are going towards the Sin books or Animal books. When you complete a book you should also list what animals were found so that we can figure out how the book should be used.
I have only 1 book that has a tricky animal but I have 5 books that I plan to read next week that have easy animals in them.
My tricky Animal is:
Macaw
Easy animals on planned reads are:
Cougar
Wolf
Dragonfly
Rat
bat
I also have books that fit for dog and cat.
So if we could find six more books that had tricky animals that weren’t duplicates then we could make a tricky collection for the additional 69 points. (49 + 20).
I think that do an easy collection is going to be easy for us BUT we have to keep in mind that once as a team we find an animal once it is only worth 1 point after the first time. Basically, we shouldn’t all be reading books with cats on covers.
Something to note, if you have low page books that don’t really qualify for anything (Color, Genre, Criteria) BUT have an animal then this is a great challenge to use them for.
Shelby is going to be adding a tab to the spreadsheet with the animals listed on it for referencing.

I agree with you, I also hope you are feeling better :D

I agree with you, I also hope you are feeling better :D"
Thanks much better. I'm at about 90% right now. I will look for tricky animals. Will page count matter kr just the animal?

I agree with you, I also hope you are feeling better :D"
Thanks much b..."
Page points count the same, animal points are on top of that. I would appreciate your time looking for a tricky animal to make our collection.
If you find a tricky animal with a low page count I would still read it anyhow because we get 7 points if its the first tricky animal of that kind :D

I know of a great HR book that has a goat, an otter, a sheep in it. Too bad it doesn't count till next week because I have a book with a horse in it right now.

I know of a g..."
Dragon doesn't count, lol, unless it's a bearded dragon.
Any of the animals you mentioned would be fine (except for wolf, lol, because I have to read a book with one of those on the cover which would make two wolves not as valuable points wise). If I had a preference it would be any of them besides the dog and cat - only because those are most common and easiest to find.

I think I understand this, might have a few questions once I come up with some things.

Also, remember That the Animal can be on the cover, in the title or in the text.
In the text the animal needs to be an actual animal or a discussion about an actual animal. Can’t be a smilie or metaphorical animal.

Tricky Animal (1st sighting)
Sin Bingo
Easy Animal (1st sighting)
Cover Color
Top Shelf
Everything else
Logic being you can only use the 1st sighting of an animal for the collections so those gain you more points than their equivalent Sin options, but once you've found it once more points are found qualifying it by the top two sin options.

Nice! That is 2 confirmed tricky reads.
Minx - Macaw
Shelby - Hammerhead
:D

As for tricky animals, I found in the text of the book:
angelfish - Hollow World ("Ellis watched a small school of striped angelfish flash by." - pg142)
Can it work?

does anyone know if Wilder Girls has some animals in it maybe? probably not, but I was thinking about starting it soon (bought myself a physical copy yesterday :})
may I suggest for the spreadsheet to also include who's reading the animal, which book, and read date?

Wilder Girls has animals! I remember a deer and a bear but there may be others

As for..."
Yes on the horses shadow, that will work. Yes on the Angelfish mention, that is perfect! Thanks for adding Absinthe Earl to your Towers folder. :D

See message #434 about the animals tab :D Glad you had a good birthday.

There is no snake yet. On the spreadsheet there is a tab for the Mini-challenge now, there are check boxes for animals and you can head over there and grab the check box for the snake. :D

whyyyy? I have read the message before, looked at the mini tab, and made a suggestion. like, what are you trying to tell me? lol

We are keeping track of the animals, including which one's work for tricky or easy on the mini-challenge tab but when the book is reported it still goes on the reporting thread with the details under the justification. Just not Sin Criteria will be chosen.
If you'd like you can include the book etc next to the animal in the collection column :D
