Laura | 9707 comments I am super happy because I was able to do an interlibrary loan tonight after work and order the second book in the Walt Longmire series. My library didn't have it in our library system. I really liked the first one.

I'll try to update the buddy read tab on the spreadsheet later today.

Ashley Marie (darlingdoor) | 1733 comments I love Crime and Punishment - definitely one of my all time favorites, Margaret. I'm glad the reread is going well for you!

I'm in the process of reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler and Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews , and both are pretty good so far. I love the Kate Daniels books, and would recommend them to any UF fans.

So, does the differences in the storylines bother you? I would almost want to have the book create the same atmosphere as the show, wow, that is so unrealistic!

So my favorite characters are Daryl, I love the bad boy (with that little boy inside) angst that he projects, ooooooh I love it. Then I think Carol for some reason and yes, I'm with Amanda, I love Michonne and who cannot but wish to be like her with her sword swinging abilities? lol oh yeah, I am a fan!

Are the Walt Longmire a western mystery series? I have tried a few mysteries and I have yet to find one that I like. I prefer more of a psychological in depth with good characterization story. I find that mysteries seem to concentrate on events and "go and find it" kind of writing. Would this series be up my alley?

I could have stayed and talked Walking Dead all night but I had to take off earlier to go to my bowling league!

Yes I like Michonne and her sword too! I didn't hear about the spin off. I will likely tune in:) We have 3 new episodes left here for 2014.

Margaret there are a few of us who have finished the first book The Cold Dish (Walt Longmire, #1) by Craig Johnson . Everyone seems to love it. Johnson has done a great job with the relationships between Longmire and his friends and employees.
Yes , it is a western mystery. I'm not sure if you would like it or not. I love mysteries so this series is right up my alley.

@Laura: Oh man, it is so good that I have been doing research for extra tidbits about Johnny Cash, I grew up listening to him and I am a fan.

@Amanda...I was hoping that you'll love it! Where are you now? I am almost done with part 4(audio) I think people should listen to this audio on the first reading because the narrator goes beyond the call of duty and does wonderful justice to C & P (Crime and Punishment)

We're probably around the same part, then. I'm almost finished with part 4 of the audio (1:01:21).
It's great! I agree about the audio. The narrator adds a lot of emotion in his reading and I'm really loving it :D.

Same here. I rarely buy books because we're on a budget. I'm lucky enough to live in an area that borders two counties so we have several library options, plus interlibrary loans from Sacramento.

I don't know what I'd do without my libraries!

I really need to go to more of the local libraries around here and get cards so I can use their digital libraries. None are really close to me so getting physical books requires two long trips -- checkout and return.

The captains have discussed it and we've decided that points should be equal for BOMs and Buddy reads.

I LOVE my Overdrive library. I don't have to worry about returning library books or collecting overdue fees. I used to live 45 minutes outside of town and it made getting to the library a pain.

Yeah, it will count as long as someone pops in to discuss it with you. Usually one of the mods will. I would, but since we're on the same team it wouldn't count.

You can also mention it in the Reading an old BOM or buddy read thread and see if anyone is interested.

sure! I think regardless, there will be someone that will discuss it with us that is on another team, the more discussion, the better!

@Amanda....you are right, Tower Teams is so fun! I love to discuss books and this has been a blast. I am so ape on both of my BRs. :)

message 350: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (everlastinggrace) @Laura...I have tried to reply to you like four times now and what I write keeps showing up in italics, hate it! so I'll reply separately. I would like to read and discuss We Were Liars by E. Lockhart as soon as I get my Johnny Cash book done which will be soon. I think like Amanda says that there will be other people on other teams that will discuss it along with us, the more discussion, the better I think!
