Maybe in the new year :)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Definitely :)

message 55: by Sanskriti (new)

Sanskriti Nagar | 318 comments Great... Everyone's checked in and all our shelves are ready already.

Tiffany, don't you worry about co-captaining. With so many co-captains on the team we'll have enough eyes and hands around to help each other. I'm sure you'll enjoy your duties.

✩Tiffany✩ (_tiffany_) | 110 comments Thank you everyone for the encouraging words!

This team already sounds like an awesome one!! I can't wait for it to all begin. I've already got some books in mind that ill be going through~

message 57: by Amy (new)

Amy H (twinypa) | 266 comments I am looking at my books also and looking at the buddy read threads

message 58: by Sanskriti (new)

Sanskriti Nagar | 318 comments I'm planning to read The Gunslinger as part of the buddy read. Although I'm not exactly sure how the points system would work if we have more than one person from the same team participating in a buddy read with members from other teams.

message 59: by Amy (new)

Amy H (twinypa) | 266 comments so far, i didn't find any i wanted to join, so i am glad someone did find some :)

message 60: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Sanz, I read that we can both get credit as long as there is also a member of another team reading.

message 61: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments I'm planning to join the Gunslinger too. So many books that I want to BR but I need to make sure I don't over-commit!

message 62: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Lol Vi...I feel the same way!!

message 63: by jingles (new)

jingles Tiffany and Greta, you've got some very exciting things going on.

Good luck with your final assessment, Tiffany! It sounds like you have a fun and exciting career ahead of you, which is wonderful.

Greta, I know I've said it before but I'll say it again...I have to second Vi on this. I have no idea how you find any time to read, but I'm glad you have that escape from time to time. I'm very happy and excited for you and your family on the upcoming arrival of your precious little bundle of joy!

message 64: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Jingles, I read for about 15 min when I wake up, for all of nap time which can be 1-2 hours, and for a while after the kids get to bed :-) sometimes it doesn't work out like that but I spend all of their awake time with them playing or getting cleaning/cooking done so I don't feel bad about reading other times.

message 65: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments I'm still amazed, Greta. I wanna be like you when I grow up! :D

OK team, I'm off to bed. I'll check in tomorrow. I'll check in tomorrow.

message 66: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Good Morning/Evening Team!! What is everyone reading now?

I'm reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison - I've heard raves about it and I'm finally starting it now for another team challenge. So far it's good but it's still too early to say.

Oh that sounds interesting Vi. I hope it turns out as good as it sounds!

I'm currently reading
Luigi's Freedom Ride by Alan Murray
which I was approved for through Netgalley, but then I didn't download it in time and it got archived. Grrr. So I've got it from the library so that I can read and review to get credit for my netgalley stats ;)

I'm also reading our BOM which is one I nominated
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
which is really interesting so far. I love the time period and the character development

Vi | 1758 comments Both the covers are soo gorgeous, Karen. Madness me want to read them or buy the book and stare at them.

✩Tiffany✩ (_tiffany_) | 110 comments Hey guys I have a question as a newbie about the TT3 bookshelf (I looked at the FAQ but I couldn't find it). Do I add the books that I'll read now and tag it as "to-read" or do I add at after I finish reading it/them and tag it as "read"?

Your choice Tiffany. It usually depends on the captains preference (i.e. if they just want "read" books on the shelf).
Maybe Amy can let us know what she thinks?

Sanskriti Nagar | 318 comments I'm currently reading The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1) by Robert Jordan . It is very strongly reminiscent of LOTR but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. I feel slightly intimadated by the no. of books in the series, and each book being somewhere around 800 pages, makes me wonder when I will ever get time to get through them all.

But after Tolkien and George R. R. Martin, I'm glad to have stumbled upon the WoT series. At least my need for reading fantasy is well taken care of for some time.

message 75: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I read many many books at the same time, and then finish a bunch all together. :) At the moment, but list of active reads are:
Love in the Time of Global Warming (Love in the Time of Global Warming, #1) by Francesca Lia Block Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan and
In the Night Garden (The Orphan's Tales, #1) by Catherynne M. Valente

Looking forward to a big weekend of reading. However, Karen and anyone else also in Australia, are you thinking of looking in on some of the Garage Sale Trail that's happening around Oz on Saturday? I know it happens in Melbourne, pretty sure in Sydney as well.

message 76: by jingles (last edited Oct 24, 2014 06:25AM) (new)

jingles I'm getting ready to start 44 Cranberry Point in audio I hope. Depends on the library loan.
44 Cranberry Point (Cedar Cove, #4) by Debbie Macomber

On Kindle I'm reading:
The Ugly Duchess, which is okay. It's a library loan that expires soon - no renewal option, so I've got to get it done.
The Ugly Duchess (Fairy Tales, #4) by Eloisa James

I'm also reading Bedding Lord Ned, which is proving to be difficult for me to read.
Bedding Lord Ned (Duchess of Love, #1) by Sally MacKenzie .

In paperback I'm reading Nefertiti, which is pretty awesome.
Nefertiti by Michelle Moran

Vi | 1758 comments Nicole, more cover lust. *drools*

Jingles, have you read any books of Kate Quinn? I read Mistress of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn supposed to be set in ancient Rome but I didn't enjoy it at all. There was too many violence especially against animals which just about did me in. How's Nefertiti by Michelle Moran ? It's also on my TBR but a little worried that it would blood-thirsty..

Greta | 1459 comments All of your books look great!! I'm currently reading Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1) by Christopher Paolini and Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon .

message 80: by jingles (new)

jingles Vi wrote: "Jingles, have you read any books of Kate Quinn? "

Vi, I've not read any of Kate Quinn's books yet, though a couple have been on my radar for awhile. Thanks for the heads up on Mistress of Rome.

I'm just getting started with Nefertiti and I'm enjoying what I've read so far. I'll have to wait a bit more to see how violent it's going to be. I will definitely let you know though :)

message 81: by jingles (new)

jingles Greta, I was supposed to join in on that buddy read for Outlander in A Million More Pages, but time just got away from me and I never got around to it.

I'm at A Breath of Snow and Ashes, and I've loved the whole series so far.

message 82: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Yes, it's been a quiet buddy read, but no worries! I'm enjoying the book anyway and I really don't mind that it's taking longer. It is just too long of a book to read for these team challenges, so I've been reading it whenever I finish my books for the week.

message 83: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Outlander is on my list too. Maybe we could set it up here? God knows I don't know when to stop picking up long books!

message 84: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Nicole I may just wait to finish Outlander when the buddy read starts! Then we could read the next books together :-)

message 85: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I like that plan so much. We are going to need to replace Philippa Gregory with something, after all!

message 86: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Unless you wanted to read the Tudor ones next ;-)

Oh I haven't heard of that. It is pretty hot here this weekend and we are getting stuck into the gardening and also building a play house for my son that was delivered yesterday

Ah
2 books I keep meaning to read. Maybe next year. I think I've booked myself out for Nov and Dec!

message 89: by Greta (new)

I keep a list here in the "member's Reading List" folder. If I didn't, I would forget which books I need to read when!

message 91: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Nice! I'm going to create something like this too...thanks, Karen!

message 92: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Outlander is yet another series I'm in the middle of. I need to read Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon . Recently, I've become very very very good at procrastinating big books. I'm really hoping this challenge will let me whittle some down.

message 93: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Greta wrote: "I think November at least is full for me too!! I need to start tracking my reading plans better...what do you all do?"

I have this weird block wherein if I put the book down in writing I sort of start losing interest in it. I've gotten better at it though - previously, once I start planning, it became like a chore but now I have a bookshelf which I read regularly from.

message 94: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments So, I'm still on a Diwali high - spent most of the day at my friend's and had loads of fun. I'm still reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison which I can officially say good. It's slow going because the world's a little bit complex and the MC character growth is still in the awkward stage. I really love books that show character growth and this book is awesome in the sense that it has managed a lot of world building in some 200 pages.

message 95: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments I agree, Vi. I am hoping to get through some bigger books for this challenge!

message 96: by Sanskriti (new)

Sanskriti Nagar | 318 comments I'm planning to buddy read Outlander as I've been putting it off for quite some time. I think I've booked myself till the year end with all that I plan to read. I've always been a moody reader so I'm not sure how all this planning will work out. But I think this challenge might be a great way for me to get all those "intimidating" books read.

message 97: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments I like BR bigger books than smaller ones. It gives you motivation to continue and you have fun. A lot of bigger books I've read have been either BR or GR and I love it.

Hello water teamies!

Well in Sydney today it is 33c and I am about to take off the pool cover and have my first swim of the season. How are your weekends going?

Seeing that we are water teams, here is a photo of where I'm spending the afternoon (reading of course!)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I spent the day shopping for more summery clothes, and getting a whole lot of pretty scarfs and jackets instead. However, I did finish one of my books, so today isn't a total fail!
