Lightning Hounds

mais J'ai visité à Bordeaux..la centre de la cité, Marseille, Paris (mais oui!) et Dijon :)

Anyone else go black Friday shopping? I feel like I might have gotten run over."
I ordered a laptop from Staples, I went this morning but they sold out so it should be arriving either tomorrow (hopefully!!) or on Monday. But I hope it comes tomorrow.
How about you? Did you get any good deals?

Hello team!!!
We are on the 4th week!! How about we try to improve our score for this next week? Catherine gave us a mini challenge idea, who else want us to try it for extra fun?
I'll be updating our reads during the day so don't forget to write them in the Lightning Hounds BOOKS READ thread, and to add any links for BR or BOM's.
Thanks you all for the lovely birthday messages. The day was lovely, I met some friends for lunch and then I went to see Mockingjay with my hub. A calm and special day.
A couple of years ago I started to learn French but after moving to Norway and trying to learn Norwegian I can barely remember a few french words, nothing to set a proper phrase. But I found it beautiful.
@Agnès,
@Trinity, did you liked Throne of Glass???
@Rose, I don't usually buy things during the Black Friday, and this year in special I'm paying more attention on my shopping urge, trying some control, lol. Did you get some good prices?

So could you put all of them in your tt3-lightning-hounds shelf as well? If I'm not wrong you read 9 titles from Nov 9th til Nov 25th. ;)

@Trinity, did you participate in the The Throne of Glass BR discussion? If so, in which message did you start? Are you liking the BR?

I am all in for a bit of fun but not sure I will be able to improve my score

I started participating in this post https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... :)

@Jane I'd be impressed if you managed to read even more in a week. You already contribute a lot. :D

TowerTeams - Lightning Hounds (official) spreadsheet updated!
Do you guys want so stats about our performance until now? I'll put some just in case :p
Week | Books reads | Books points | BOM points | BR points | Total
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 1 | 29 books | Bp = 810 | BOMp = 60 | BRp = 60 | Total = 930
Week 2 | 25 books | Bp = 770 | BOMp = 0 | BRp = 120 | Total = 890
Week 3 | 30 books | Bp = 710 | BOMp = 30 | BRp = 60 | Total = 800
Week 3 | Extra points from Agnès 7 previous books = 160
Total for the three weeks = 2780
Would you like to see the points per members also?

º The Iron Duke 384 pages - 11/24
º Sworn in Steel 499 pages - 11/27
ºBayou Moon 447 pages - 11/29
Heads up-Sworn and Steel and Bayou Moon are both BRs, but I haven't had a chance to participate in discussion (and Sworn and Steel hasn't started yet).
I'll also be doing the Martian BR (7th) and Name of the Rose (9th)
I did get some good black friday deals, but they were online. Shopping in stores is just frustrating that day. All the things on sale are rushed and sold-out. Everything else is not a good enough deal to wait in an hour check out line. I just browsed to get an idea of what to order, and clicked away at night.

Just went and checked since I got back to a computer and it was cutting off your last member so I changed the spreadsheet. If you look at the tabs along the bottom you can see your team's tab and check what's wrong more easily from there.

Right now we have 3020 points. Well done team!!!
@Agnès, I saw that this BR has a thread and you are already interacting with other readers. So, when you finish the book you just have to remember me that you participate in a BR and let me know in which message your participation began (or give me a link).
That way I can confirm and put the correct data on the spreadsheet.
Both BR and BOM participations are credited with 30 points.
I hope I have explained what you wanted to know. Any other question just bring it to us.
@Rose thanks for the updating.
Great @Trinity!! I've counted your two BRs. :)

1st to Die | James Patterson | 30Nov2014 | 462 Pages | 50 points
Buddy Read : Link here | 30 points
By Blood | Ellen Ullman | 30Nov2014 | 378 Pages | 20 points

You can do buddy reads off schedule but you won't get credit til there's some actual discussion going on for it so you may be waiting a bit to claim the points.
You also have to have read the book during Tower Teams since reading the book is the trigger for getting points.

So inspired by Catherine I thought we can use some themed weeks. For the next 5 weeks I'll give us a ideas about what to look for in your reading for the next days. And we can compete among ourselves to see who will gain the most amount of points.
This isn't mandatory and you can participate in one or all of the themes. The idea is to have fun and stimulate us to keep reading.
For count to the challenge the team member has to explain why he/she thinks that the book meets the requirement for that week. That can be based on the plot, title, setting, cover, feelings, characters, ...
Each book read gains the same amount of points sets for the Tower Teams challenge.
So who wants to participate??
Any questions???

First theme (Dec 01 to Dec 07):
December has just began! So we have to read book(s) about December. It can appears in the title, in the story or that you feels it's a great reading for this month (tell us why).

This completes 2 challenges ( now only 7 left to finish)

Can You Keep a Secret? | Sophie Kinsella | 30Nov2014 | 416 Pages | 20 points

I was drawn to it even before a realized that was inserted also in the Tower Teams Challenge as a team quest.
Since we have now a official mini challenge I think I'll suspended my little one (at least for now).
So go check it out the rules and mini quests and we can start working on it.
Any quest? Just send them in...

You can use ones you contribute to the team challenge for your own personal one as well.
The French section really tested my memory of school level French! Think I just about followed what was being discussed...
Sorry I've been quiet this week - start a new job on Thursday so things have been a little busy. Haven't had much reading time as a result and not sure when it'll pick up again.
I like the look of the mini-challenge. Am very tempted to see how far I can get with it as an individual challenge. Obviously anything I read can be used on here too.

Thanks! Is one of these things where I rotate jobs every 4 months to learn something new. Get to meet new people in a new place which keeps things interesting. This one is the area I want to end up in so fingers crossed it goes well.
Just finished
which I enjoyed. Had forgotten a lot from the last one of the series, but this is pretty separate so wasn't too disastrous.
Start
which is BOM this month. Will get going with the discussion later.

On top of working like a mad woman, I have a class in university. (chinese, not easy for me). And my term exam is next week. With all the above I am not up to date. So I am in study mode. I am still reading but I have not much internet time.
My virtual self will resurrect next week. In the meantime, I will be updating the read thread but no much more. If I have a minute I will post in my buddy reads to get these points in asap. :)
