Yeah. But you'll need to have some discussion going on for it to count as a buddy read. There's a thread to resurrect old buddy reads here to help you find others.

Post your comments on the book in the BOM link but use the other link to find other people to join your discussion.

I'm almost finishing The Lies of Locke Lamora...

I'm also working on the Mods Automatic Update Spreadsheet, it's very good but I still have to figure out how to work the buddy read and Bom parts (update - ok everything is working!).

That spreadsheet is super cool. It looks like they spent a lot of time on it.

Last night I finished India Black (296 pages)to detox from Steppenwolf confusion. I'd recommend it for a fast, fun read.

And I finished my first book for the challenge. The Lies of Locke Lamora started ok for me but then became very enjoyable. It's a hit for those who likes a anti-hero kind of fantasy.

I freaking love that book. The sequels (I think) are totally worth it. Some don't like the second, but it's hard to argue against BAMF lady pirates.

Juliana - I had the same problem. It took me til about 1/3 through then I was hooked. If a br is set up I'd join in for the 2nd.

I believe we're collecting a link to a good representative post in your buddy read. One of your posts where you're discussing the book. Just so we can go back and verify things if needed.

@Rose and @Esther, I did like it that the 1st book ended if a proper ending. For now it will stay as standalone for me. Maybe next year I come back to the series.

Great Sophie, thanks! A 800 pages in one week is impressive. For that long I usually take 2 weeks if the book really keeps my attention.

And thanks to you too @Catherine. I don't have read any of Philippa Gregory books yet, but I'm aiming too. Any suggestions?

(also I do not do BOM or buddy reads so I need to get all my points from reading to keep up with the rest of you)

(last round of SSS my team was last)

I don't do buddy reads because I am a slow reader...and would probably make my buddy insane!! I don't do BOM during the month that it is BOM..haha..but I do read a lot of the monthly books eventualy...once in a while I even partcipate in the discussions too... this book has been on my tbr list for ages, and last onth I didn't get to it..so I'm doing it this month :) and we could use the points anyway...right? :)

1st to Die. the 1st edition that come up is the paperback, 462 pages... so that what I am using to report if I understand correctly.

This was the first time that I participated in a BOM discussion, and I liked. It was fun reading all the theories that were being plotted in others readers mind.

Both look fine to use for numbers. Redwall seems to have the audiobook as the default one but all the page numbers are in the same point range so it shouldn't matter what you choose.

I finished The Crossing Places. I had to, because I started it at night without realizing that it was a bit dark. I am going to enjoy discussing it, because I definitely had some mixed feelings about it.

I am going to do a buddy read for the first time as well in December. Hopefully I dont let my buddies down !

out of curiosity...for participating in a BOM discyussion it's 20pts...do we get additional 30pts if discussing with another team? or do we only get 30pts total?

Are you talking about an older BOM that you resurrected or a current one?

For your second question, you must re-read the book. The read-as date is the trigger for any points :) But if it's been 6 months since you first read it you can re-read for points.
