Yeah. But you'll need to have some discussion going on for it to count as a buddy read. There's a thread to resurrect old buddy reads here to help you find others.

Post your comments on the book in the BOM link but use the other link to find other people to join your discussion.

Apoorv, thanks for updating the spreadsheet. :)
I'm almost finishing The Lies of Locke Lamora...
I'm also working on the Mods Automatic Update Spreadsheet, it's very good but I still have to figure out how to work the buddy read and Bom parts (update - ok everything is working!).
If some of you are curious about it, here are the link.

Last night I finished India Black (296 pages)to detox from Steppenwolf confusion. I'd recommend it for a fast, fun read.

And I finished my first book for the challenge. The Lies of Locke Lamora started ok for me but then became very enjoyable. It's a hit for those who likes a anti-hero kind of fantasy.

Juliana - I had the same problem. It took me til about 1/3 through then I was hooked. If a br is set up I'd join in for the 2nd.

Unfortunately I only liked 3 of the stories in this book.

.. and the SS Super Series Challenge is indeed heating up.. I am sure Team 10 will out-rank Team 11 :P :P *kidding*

Haha! I'm not that fast either! So we'll both stroll along :)

It was the same for me. I like the 2nd one better. The 3rd one is on top of my TBR. Sooonnnnn....

starts (for me) at post 63 :)

I'd just have your captain collect those for any buddy read points you want to claim.

@Rose and @Esther, I did like it that the 1st book ended if a proper ending. For now it will stay as standalone for me. Maybe next year I come back to the series.

@Catherine, what book are you guys discussing?
I've just added a url to the books read page so you can check I took part in the br properly!
Am 2/3 through an 800 page book now - hoping to have it finished by the end of the week

Great Sophie, thanks! A 800 pages in one week is impressive. For that long I usually take 2 weeks if the book really keeps my attention.
And thanks to you too @Catherine. I don't have read any of Philippa Gregory books yet, but I'm aiming too. Any suggestions?

(also I do not do BOM or buddy reads so I need to get all my points from reading to keep up with the rest of you)
And I think team 1 in SS will beat both team 10 and 11 lol
(last round of SSS my team was last)

1st to Die. the 1st edition that come up is the paperback, 462 pages... so that what I am using to report if I understand correctly.
I post and will post again in the buddy read thread. But I am talking to myself so far...
.. off to hunt down the reporting thread...

I will also use first of the editions for pagenumbers. 352 pages

Girls, books read updated!
Here is our score, so far.

We are doing great! :D

Both look fine to use for numbers. Redwall seems to have the audiobook as the default one but all the page numbers are in the same point range so it shouldn't matter what you choose.

After the book The Christmas Spirit it says (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel #6)
This should be with the book The Enchantress by Michael Scott

This should be my last Christmas book for now but I will start reading them again around the 24th of November when the next Christmas challenge starts.

Thanks Jane. I've made the correction.

if I just participate in a book discusion...say I already read the book...do we get points for that too? or do I have to re-read the book as well?

For your second question, you must re-read the book. The read-as date is the trigger for any points :) But if it's been 6 months since you first read it you can re-read for points.

shhhh!!!! that's supposed to be secret! lol

They are fine in our own spreadsheet.

Jane, the spreadsheet didn't find the page number for these books. I'll have to insert manually.
Thanks for point it out.

@Apoorv and @Rose, now our spreadsheet automatically figures out where to put the 'x' for the page count's points.
