Thank you for the invite. I enjoy history, especially World War II nonfiction. My personal book is a nonfictional book that revolves around World War II, told in an unconventional manner. Happy to be a member.

Don't feel badly. I had the same problem. It works for some folks, but not for others I have decided. What are your interests (I mean with regards history, obviously!).

message 187: by Ed (new)

Ed Schwall | 12 comments Sorry to all, if I havent Sorry, I'm still learning how to navigate through this site. I recently completed a book on my family, and my old neighborhood in Dearborn, Michigan. The first half of the book deals with World War II from a different perspective than most. My father was in the German Luftwaffe and my mother was Polish. The book details how they met, separated, and how they managed to reunite after Stalin dropped his Iron Curtain. That was a long way of saying I'm interested in all history, but mostly about World War I and II.

message 188: by Ed (new)

Ed Schwall | 12 comments Sure would like to edit that last comment????

message 189: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Protopapas | 10 comments I believe that the failure of many to understand the 20th century is the result of our failure to understand the antecedents and meaning of the FIRST World War. Lots of folks know about the SECOND, but the first is sort of a "footnote" in history instead of being what it was -- the beginning of everything else.

message 190: by Ed (new)

Ed Schwall | 12 comments Valerie, you are so right. The ramifications of the First World War changed future historical events more than most people realize.

message 191: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Protopapas | 10 comments Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

message 192: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) @Valerie and Ed......you might want to pop over to the WWI thread where this conversation is continuing.

message 193: by Ed (new)

Ed Schwall | 12 comments Not sure how to get there? I'll work on it
