I think I was over complicating it.."
I am only giggling at your slightly and it comes from a p..."
Kinda hard to discuss over a message board too :P
I already have a hard enough time discussing things verbally let alone in writing!
Thanks for your patience ;)

A folder for unofficial challenges might also create a place for a thread to discuss popsugar type challenges.

Right around the 23rd of November, the moderators will let us know what December's challenge tags are, and the final Trim number. Somewhere in there, there is going to be lots of PBT energy going towards discussions and voting for next years challenges, and top tens and year round-ups, and during that time, somewhere around November 24th/25th, I am going to post a thread where we can do some organization and planning for this optional continuation. I will post on that thread, a remaining list of 24 with the previous buddy reads established in a new place (if they were 25-36), and people can feel free to create new ones, share their thinking about developing a new or revised Trim list of 24 books. This gives us more than three weeks, even a month, to pull this together, during a time that makes sense as a greater community, we will all be thinking about planning personal and group challenges for next year. I so didn't want to have the pressure to do this early, because it made sense to me to have that energy all at the same time. And in line with thinking about next year at the right season and energy to do so.
Then around December 20th, I will post the new thread that explains in clear detail what to do, how it works, and how to join in if desired, and that will be in the folder or area that the mods tell us to put it - that will make it easy if new members or anyone wants to jump in at any time. Around the same time, Meli and Joanne will be poised, so that in late December, after the mods announce tags for January, we can announce our first 1-24 optional Trim number. And they will post it right on the thread we will use, in the place where it needs to be. So everyone will know where to look for that announcement and what to do with the thread.
Please remember that the fun in this is that nobody has to do it. No points, no pressure, but that for anyone who really wanted to get to a some of the rest, or had looked forward to the buddy reads we created a year ago, or just still like the idea of having a book picked for them each month that they might be inspired to do, its great. Its meant to be no pressure. Another way of building community too, if more buddy reads emerge, or if new folks want to join or jump in.
So that was it - just an update. I am to be succinct - I am going to post a planning and organization thread around November 24th/25th, and a Unofficial Official Trim 2020 thread around December 20th, and we will be good to go. Those are the dates. In the meantime, everyone should enjoy American History reading, Native American Reading, November and fall themed reading, and their #28 - and everyone have a beautiful November.

I updated the 2019 Buddy Read list, so people can see which books have potential buddy reads set up. It’s in the member challenge folder, post # 167. The entire list is in post 2

I was planning to keep my list in the same order, and simply renumber it from 1 to 24. I plan to join in extra buddy reads when I can. I'm going to try to read all 24 books in 2020, wherever I can fit them in.

I've been thinking about what books I will be swapping out of the remaining 24...only a couple but out they go and new ones come in! Since I'm going to still be reading Proust through most of next year, whatever is in that 24 has to be easy reads -- no serious non-fiction, big tomes, difficult subjects! Most fit just fine, but there are one or two...

24 new numbers would be if you kept them all in the same order, It's up to you if you want to make any changes, but this might be a good starting point. Please let me know if you swap any numbers for buddy reads.
I would like to participate in buddy reads and the trim 2020 plan, except I'll be accelerating my reading to try to complete my list in 2020.

Jen-it is here in Footnotes-to the left of the FOOTNOTES title folder-there is link that says "showing four of XXX" number of posts. Click on that and the rest of the thread will pop up-it is about 8 folders down
