Let us discuss the merits of said Wii and make a recommendation.

Félix (habitseven) I am woefully Wii-ignorant.

I think she should.

Matthieu | 1009 comments Hell. Yes. I probably would have thrown myself out a window this year if not for the 'communal' Wii in our dorm room. I'm slightly exaggerating, of course. Slightly.

message 5: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) As long as it's only slightly.

Matthieu | 1009 comments Heh, those were some truly boring days...

message 7: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I bet.

Sarah | 13814 comments We have a Wii, and it's pretty fun. Don't be afraid of looking like an idiot, Jackie. I recommend the tennis and bowling and boxing - they're all lots of fun.
The Lego Star Wars is worth playing, and the first Rayman's Ravin Rabbids, where you get to slap rabbits that are singing out of tune, and hurl cows.
The Wii Fit is also fun - you get to ski jump (which I will not do in real life, unlike bowling and tennis) and tightrope walk and hula hoop (which I can't do in real life, no matter how hard I try).

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Geez, RA! I can't tell you anything without you turning it into a discussion thread.

Chris is against the Wii idea, by the way. It's a combination of too much initial outlay for the console, and then the games, plus not enough room where our tv is for safe flailing of arms.
And, he's a good actual bowler. Way better than me.

I'm for the Wii. It's a long winter up by you guys. Live dangerously!

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Def have to make room for flailing arms... as well as a strict rule of strapping the wrist strap on. My sister's kids broke a lamp that way. Oops.

Rayman's Ravin Rabbits is really hilarious, esp the outhouse game. I'm an old-time Zelda fan when I feel like geeking out on the Wii. But I confess I suck at just about everything else. I think it's a matter of playing it a lot until you get the hang of it.

Don't worry about the silly factor because you'll all be in the same boat. If you want something that will give you a good workout indoors that is more fun than a stationary bike, this is great. Otherwise, just curl up and read your favorite book by the fire. ;)

I'm with KD on this one. Support local bowling alleys and tennis courts. The computers we work, televisions we watch, iPods we listen to, cell phones that destroy our solitude...sheesh, where does it end?

Rachel | 1106 comments If you're going to get a Wii, there's a really cute Bunny-hater game I'd recommend. Rayman Raving Rabbids 2

message 14: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) But...but...but Rachel, you're avatar is a bunny!

message 15: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1106 comments So? I love bunnies, but if they want to take over the world, then...Rayman will stop them.

We have a Wii, and it really is a lot of fun, and the Wii fit will keep you busy on days you can't get out of the house.

Stephen (stephenT) Get the WII if you live in the wilds of deepest winter, for sure. To me, that would be anywhere north of Indianapolis.
