Lynn | 2297 comments Thanks for the shout-out to consider my school schedule, Sherry. I'm finishing this year's fall break today. I took my mom up to the cabin with me to help me close it down for the winter and we just got back last night.

I'll have to get back to my office to check for sure, but next year our fall break should be scheduled for the same comparable weekend. The break is on Monday and Tuesday, so a convention schedule that starts on Friday night and ends on Monday or starts on Saturday and ends on Tuesday would be best for me.

I'll post my actual break dates as soon as I've verified them.

Lynn in Iowa (with 2 Ns)

If you come to San Diego, I promise you can show them to me, and anyone else who wants to see them.

Lynn | 2297 comments FYI - I checked the academic calendar and it look like my fall break will start at noon on Friday, Oct. 14 next year and end on Tuesday night, the 18th.

That seems like a rather short break! You have Friday afternoon and Monday off, and that's it? I think a break should at least be two weeks!

Carol | 7657 comments We seen the babies in 2012 , I think. They were so cute. There was a special walk through, where you were walking through their enclosure, but had to be extremely quiet. That day the babies were very playful and full of antics, like any precocious child.

Lynn | 2297 comments We're off Friday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday. I don't have to be back in the office until Wednesday. I wish it was 2 weeks! :)

Xiao Liwu (aka M. Wu bec it's easier!) was born in the summer of 2012, so you probably saw him. He has the reputation of being quite the rambunctious baby panda. Or maybe you saw his older sibs. Lucky you in any case!!!

Be careful what you wish for, Sherry! It's said that panda lovers can be pretty single-minded ;-)

Mary Anne | 1986 comments We were there in February, and I have a cute photo of a panda eating bamboo, with his back to us. Shy, I guess.

message 62: by Portia (new)

Portia Not shy so much as not interested. I've noticed that the only humans zoo animals pay attention to are keepers with treats :-)

Ruth | 11076 comments I've heard good things about San Diego's Little Italy. Might be a good place for us to eat.
