You're setting your new thread quite early for the new year :p

message 16: by Hailee (new)

Hailee | 2762 comments Yeah I know. But I was looking through my 2019 thread the other day and moaning to myself about how badly I did towards the end despite my best intentions.

I made a few decisions about what I was going to do about a few series that have been hanging around unfinished for a while and I thought setting up this new thread with all the plans set out might make me a bit less stressed about it.

I'm still planning to finish a couple of my currently reading series this year i.e Wrath and The Girl on the Liar's Throne so I haven't abandoned that thread yet :-).

Virginie | 6109 comments Makes sense. I tend to do a lot of planning with my reading too. I'm overwhelmed by the sheer size TBR otherwise, and panic instead of reading (which only makes things worse :p)

Hailee | 2762 comments I had a look at all the books I read this year and realised that while I read more books this year that previously I've read much less fantasy and scifi than I even have before and I think that is due to being reluctant to start new series. So in 2020 I am giving myself freedom to start any series I want and see if that gets me out of this fantasy/scifi slump I seem to be in.

As such I've renamed this tracker Hailee's Series Liberation instead of Series Shame, which kind of ruins the alliteration I was originally going for but never mind 😉

Hailee | 2762 comments Series I'm most excited to start

♡ The Winnowing Flame starting with The Ninth Rain. This is from the author of The Copper Cat trilogy which is one of my all time favourite series so now the next trilogy is complete I want to start it.

♡ The Nine Realms starting with A Queen in Hiding. This series wasn't an my radar until yesterday but I'm supporting it on principle. A series that are releasing one book every consecutive month and straight to paperback so I don't have to to wait for a year after everyone else. Sign me up!!!!)

♡ Mistborn starting with The Final Empire. I'm horrified I've yet to read a Sanderson book. 2020 is the year to change that.

♡ Night's Dawn starting with The Reality Dysfunction. I read ⅔ of the first book in this trilogy during university but due to exam ptessure ended up putting it down and never picking it back up again. I remember loving it though.

♡ Lightbringer starting with The Black Prism. The last book in this series is finally coming out in paperback in August so what better time to start this series.

♡ Founders starting with Foundryside. Book two is coming out soon so this is a good time to see what everyone loves about this book.
