It's that time of year again, so lets find some chillers to read by the fire!

Remember, no spamming. Violators will be violated before being banned.

message 2: by James (new)

James Mertz (jmertz) intensity by dean koontz

message 3: by Walter (new)

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 573 comments This one looks interesting. It's by Christopher Moore, author of Practical Demonkeeping and Bloodsucking Fiends:

The Stupidest Angel A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore
The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror

Comedy and horror in one succinct package. What's not to like? :)

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments I like the look of Walter's choice.

message 5: by Holly (new)

Holly (goldikova) Christopher Moore books are pretty funny; Lamb was my favorite.

December Park by Ronald Malfi
Gotta admit it's a great title for reading next month. Sounds like a good creepy coming-of-age story.

One of the more creative ways to tell people to behave that I've seen.

Nate (the_enobee) | 147 comments NOS4A2 NOS4A2 by Joe Hill is pretty darn Christmasy!

Author J.F. Gonzalez has lost his battle with cancer, and I think perhaps this month's read could be dedicated to his memory.

Here is his author page, where you can find his books.

J.F. Gonzalez

message 16: by 11811 (Eleven) (new)

message 17: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (littlemissred3) | 252 comments I don't know but it sounds like a good book. I may still try and track it down.

NOS4A2 is a most excellent choice!! Some Joe Hill Christmas? Yes, indeed!!!! I already have the book checked out, waiting for the right moment to dive into it. This would be a great novel for December.

Romina Nicolaides (ronicolaides) | 19 comments Grotesqueis a very good read and a steer away from the west. A bit old but well worth it.

message 22: by Kathy (new)

I was kind of bummed the group read in October didn't have anything to do with Halloween; it would be nice to make amends with a December read that at least has something to do with the season...

message 24: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (lifeasabooknerd) | 40 comments NOS4A2 would be a perfect Christmas read. Too bad I've already read it...

message 25: by Monica (new)

Monica Go | 898 comments I agree..I wanted to get Nos4a2 for Christmas :)

message 26: by Walter (new)

Let's try this.....two Group Reads this month.

One dedicated to J.F. Gonzalez, for those who wish to participate.

And the other will run the way they usually do....

message 29: by L (new)

L | 6 comments After reading the comments here, I totally cosign the idea of a J. F. Gonzalez book coupled with NOS4A2. I haven't read any Gonzalez nor have I read NOS4A2, and I think a dedication to Gonzalez and the Christmas theme here is perfect!

I'd be willing to participate in both.
I have December Park by Malfi on my shelves (and already read NOS4A2), so I'll second that one.

message 34: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (littlemissred3) | 252 comments Me too. I would have liked to read Secrets, but it's not available. I've never read anything by him either, so that's why I'm picking up this one, and then I'll start whatever is picked.

Sounds great! I've never read J.F. Gonzalez before, so that would be a great opportunity as well.

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 81 comments I hate to admit that I haven't read NOS4A2 yet either so that works for me
I also love Christopher Moore but have not yet read The Stupidest Angel

message 45: by Shaun (new)

Shaun Horton | 324 comments Actually, I may have to wait on NOS4A2 if I don't hear back from the interview I went on Monday. :-/ a $10 ebook is beyond my budget at the moment.

Keep an eye on that price, Shaun. Joe Hill's stuff goes on sale fairly often. Also, NOS4A2 is available from my library as an ebook, so that might be worth looking into as well. And good luck with the interview!

message 47: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Shaun, what about the library?

message 48: by Steve (new)

Steve What about the new Stephen King book, Revival?

message 49: by Aja (new)

Aja Nichole (darkblonde) I read NOS4A2 Last year in December and it was my favorite read all year so I'm excited to hear what you guys think (if it's chosen).
Also I'm for the suggestion of Revival.

message 50: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (littlemissred3) | 252 comments I started reading NOS4A2 by Joe Hill yesterday, and it's good so far.
