Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 194 comments I actually hate reading most of those cliches. Sure, I like the good cliche, but I want something the different. The rubber glove one is annoying, taste lie, and the magical kid fix. I especially dislike the magical kid fix.

Ros Jackson Good list, Ted. I'm sure I've seen them all used in films, although I haven't come across as many in books. They definitely need to be retired.

I am doing National Novel Writing Month and this list is always in the back of my mind. I hate to admit it, but I think I did use a few of these cliches...At least, it wasn't every sentence.
