s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments I just watched Snowpiercer, so here's another, additional idea. (I like to multitask...)

dany (elothwen) Same!!

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments I just watched two dystopian movies, twas quite interesting.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments Snowpierced (loooved this one!) and Goodbye World (quite a bit more meh).

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments I have always loved the dystopian genre, but recently it seems that every teen book is in that genre. But if the idea is really interesting, then I don't mind as much.

☣Radioactive☣ (radio_active) I like dystopian too. lol.

message 9: by Amburger (new)

Amburger | 4 comments Ah yes. I had a really nice dystopian roleplay once... A few years back... and then it died and my heart was torn out.

Yeah, I agree that it would have to be an interesting idea with a very solid foundation.

Eh, I think it was worth watching them both, but I definitely enjoyed Snowpiercer more.

message 12: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments I've heard of it. One of mine is The Giver and another called Birthmarked.

message 13: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments Indeed. I have to read the rest in the series.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments I do quite like the Giver. What is Birthmarked about?

message 15: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments It's about this teenage girl who is a midwife and each month she has a quota of babies she has to give to this city inside these walls. Everything seemed fine, despite the poorness she lives in outside the walls until her parents are arrested for some reason. It's really good. :D

message 16: by Amburger (new)

Amburger | 4 comments Ohhh I read that book. It was good. The other books in the series were good as well I thought.

message 17: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments I haven't got to finish the series!

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments Sounds interesting!

message 19: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments It is! ^_^ I read the first book three times, I think, and I might read it another since I want to refresh my memory.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) I have a feeling everyone will be even more gung-ho Nov 21st when Mockingjay comes out.

message 21: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments Eh, not me. I didn't like the books, though the movies are better in my opinion.

message 22: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) I haven't read the books and I think the movies are decent. I just really like Jennifer Lawrence.

message 23: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments The first book was definitely the best book. The rest went downhill and I personally didn't connect with the author or the characters. And I like Jennifer Lawrence too. :)

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments Ditto.

message 25: by Autumn (new)

Autumn I never read the books but I really like the movies :) Jennifer Lawrence is pretty awesome too.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) She's pure awesome sauce.

message 27: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments Wow, something went wrong with Goodreads there.

message 28: by Amburger (new)

Amburger | 4 comments Nah. She's just really really really really really really really really really really really awesome.

message 29: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) But seriously, does anyone hate her? I don't think so.

message 30: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Well, they're stupid.

message 31: by Autumn (new)

Autumn There are a lot of stupid people in the world.

message 32: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments That fact is one we all have to face, unfortunately.

ℂᴀᴛ (hiatus 11/10 - 11/14) (missmeow) I'm honestly not a huge fan of the dystopian craze that's going on right now. I never finished The Hunger Games trilogy (though I did enjoy the second one). The only other dystopian trilogy I've read was James Dashner's The Maze Runner series, which I actually really enjoyed. I watched Divergent but haven't read the books. Other than more zombie-esque things (The Last of Us, I Am Legend, The Walking Dead, etc.) I don't have much experience with the dystopian genre.

message 36: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments I feel the same. The craze is getting annoying and what's more, I feel a lot of them are female writers with a love triangle thrown in for drama.

message 37: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) When I think of dystopia, I think of Fallout, mainly, which is the RIGHT way to do dystopia.

YES D:

Watch Snowpiercer though! It was a refreshing take on the whole thing!

message 39: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 25 comments What is it rated?

ℂᴀᴛ (hiatus 11/10 - 11/14) (missmeow) Ji Mei ^_^ wrote: "What is it rated?"

I'm pretty sure it's rated R. I haven't seen it myself but I've heard a lot of good things.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 51 comments It's pretty violent but I loved it, personally.
