Agreed! Dani as a "main" character has gotten very little.

I'm not sure if everyone can access this or not but on kobobooks they have a free preview that has the novella that comes before the book, plus the prologue and the first part of chapter 1

I wish that people would just trust KMM. It bugs me that so many readers refused to read Iced because it had Dani narrating and she's young. It was a really great book and those that finished it fell in love with Dani and the other characters we don't see as much of from Mac's POV. I was doubtful too at first, but I was happily surprised by it. Now I agree that KMM probably had to change her plans based on reader complaints. I just hope that this book is meant as a stepping stone to get back to Dani's story as a focus.

It's like just give Dani a chance. She's a total pimp.

I was skeptical reading Iced at first but just getting bits and pieces of Dani's back story and seeing how she grew up,it's hard to not love her. I was totally fine not reading about TP! ;-p Although,I missed seeing their friendship and bad ass fighting that they did in the previous books.

This part where Ryo confronts her in the club and asks her how she felt when she thought he was dead had me in tears. It shows her emotional side and since she puts up a bravado the majority of the time it hurt my heart to read.

I don’t answer him. I’m never going to answer him. I hate him. Because when I thought I’d killed him, I felt more alone than I’ve felt in a long time. Like I couldn’t stand walking through this city knowing he wasn’t in it. Like somehow, aslong as he was out there somewhere, if I was ever really in trouble, I knew where I could go and while maybe he wouldn’t do exactly what I wanted him to do, he’d keep me alive. He’d get me through whatever it was to live another day. I think that’s the kind of feeling you get from parents when you’re a kid, if you’re lucky. I didn’t get that feeling. I curled in a cage and every time she put on her perfume and makeup and hummed while she got dressed, I worried that she was going to kill me this timeby forgetting me. I hoped her new boyfriend would suck so she’d come home sooner. I know that no matter what fecked-up things Ryodan does, he’ll never forget me. He’s meticulous. There’s a lot to be said for detail-oriented. Least in my world there is. Especially when I’m one of the details.I can’t look away. How the heck is he alive? I feel like he’s stirring around in my brain. Watching the light go out of his cool, clear eyes in the alley behind BB&B hadjust about slayed me. I missed him. I bloody fecking missed him.

I think most people feel that way, Laura. Some don't. Lol. Some people still crying about men lusting after her. It's crazy.

Thats why that is my favorite scene in the whole book. So much emotion in that whole scene. You made me smile this morning.

I'm still mad and plan to stay that way about the direction changing. Dani got screwed with it back to Mac primary until I see otherwise in upcoming books. Originally was supposed to be only 2 more Mac.. I hope she doesn't rule the next 3!!!!! -_-

We got several 5 STAR reviews in last night with more detailing. Hate to say it but I think they are all fake.Their profiles look suspicious and they read like jacket-covers. Publishing interns my guess. I am now officially worried, not about Dani time, I knew that was blown months ago, but how bad is this book? Why do they need to put these 5 STAR reviews to drum up business? People are so stoked for Mac its going to sale unless the book itself is sloppy. Library was a good pick on this one I suspect.

I'm on the library hold list and I am the 13th person to do so. I am going to try and hold out and read it there first but these past two weeks have killed me. I have no idea how I am going to endure the wait after everyone else has read it. So bummed that this is Mac's book. Ugh. There are so many things I wanted to know about Dani and Even Dancer. The observer,her black hunter hand...and what the hell is Dancer? Haha. I need a life.

Yeah I know. It was supposed to be Dani's trilogy! Especially after becoming so emotionally attached to Dani. I hate how KMM is condensing Dani's story, just so that Mac can have the lead. (God no more of Mac's Deus Ex Machinas-I think I'm morally superior and stronger than everyone else-Barron's and her's emotionally constipated relationship struggles-Excessively endless lines of introspection-and surviving mostly because she somehow manages to give all the dudes a perpetual boner-BS.)

One Dani book managed to eclipse and completely overshadow the entire fever series for me. Imagine how amazing her whole trilogy would have been. It's such a waste of an epic, intriguing and totally lovable heroine's amazing potential!

i know I lucked out, i am second on Library wait list and they are getting 2 books. IT sucks because everyone waited so long for it. I have gotten passed the Dani issue, if Moning can write Iced and make it something I wanted to read she can even do it with...*gasp*....Mac? The problem now I see is that this book is not good period. She felt rushed to get something out, and anytime an author takes a drastic directional change in storyline you need to be hesitant. Hoping I am completely wrong about it being bad. PLease Moning IMPRESS!

Yeah I know, lol. Most of those accounts, had only read one book. Burned. Suspicious much? Lol. Omg I'm becoming such a stalker. Hopefully they weren't just people from her PR agency trying to drum up the rating.

I know! My favorite was the one that said they were "Feverishly" awaiting Feverborn...that is the best cover blurb ever. Mac fans are going to love this book there is no need for that.

I've been looking for reviews but having no luck. Are they the ones in the "community reviews"? I've seen a couple in there mixed in.

Preach it sistaaa! Haha, I'm looking forward to the reviews after the book is released to the public. I think the average public reviews will be a lot more objective. I don't trust pre-publish date reviews. They're usually slanted (in my opinion) to mostly only give favourable book reviews.

I finally started re-reading Iced a couple nights ago and I have a couple of thoughts. First, about the possible metaphor, this quote stood out to me last night.

Dani is recalling telling the sidhe-sheep that someone will try to monopolize food distribution since they have to use the barter system now, she sheep tell her that isn't likely because everyone is too busy trying to survive. Dani then says this... "I said that wouldn't last long and didn't they read A Canticle of Leibowitz, see how things trend? They said what did A Canticle for Leibowitz have to do with food? And I said should I start calling you sidhe-simpletons instead of sidhe-sheep? Do I have to spell out everything? Can't we metaphor some things?"

Just pointing out that Dani does like to use metaphors. :)

I think I'll be happy with the book because I'm a KMM fan regardless. I'm going to trust that she wrote the book the way it should be written. I'm sure she might break my trust like some other authors *cough* Charlaine Harris *cough* but I have to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all I almost didn't read Shadowfever when I thought Barrons was gone but I did and I wasn't disappointed.

That very first scene from Barrons' POV. I started skimming it because I've read that scene before, then I was like, wait a second, I dont' remember that happening. So I started reading in detail and I'm thinking, wtfeck is going on?. This didn't happen! And I'm thinking they must be doing some sort of pretending and recreating that scene the way they wish it had happened. Then it ends and I'm absolutely FLABBERGASTED!! Completely flabbergasted I tell you!

I think we have found our source of betrayal between Mac & Barrons. I'm not sure how I'll feel about that being the problem between them. I think it is going to be annoying. :-/
