I just finished all the Shari Lepena books, which do a great job of building "what's going to happen?!" but I don't think are always that great with the ending. Not disappointing just no wow factor.

I also just read the second in Elin Hilderbrand's "Paradise" trilogy, which I'm loving.

How about you, Karen?

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments I'm Enjoying Amos Oz's A Tale of Love and Darkness, which is a memoir growing up in Israel during its beginning as a nation. This is wonderful, even though it is in translation (from the Hebrew). My only complaint: I am reading it very slowly to savor the writing, so it seems to be taking me a long time.

With all the work I've had to put in with school this semester, reading has kind of fallen by the wayside for me. Hoping with break coming up and this being my last semester I can squeeze in some more reading time for myself. I could sure use it!

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments That's great Leane!

Leticia, I know what you mean. I'll pick up an Anne McCaffrey Pern book that I have read many times or a Lee Child that I can read in a day, just so I can feel like I accomplished something, when I am reading a very slow moving book.

Janessa, there is nothing in this world that is better than reading a wonderful book for pleasure after a tough week of finals. I remember reading a book by Chaim Potok and listening to Journey the entire 7 hour drive home after a Fall semester.

Leane, LOL. These books are wonderful and definitely worth reading. I saw all the movies as well, and thought they were very good, but not as good as the books, especially the later movies, where it is really hard to make an 800 page book into a 2 hour movie.

I may add them to the 2020 list. So many books and not enough time.

Do you tend to read more Christmas themed books during the Holidays? Personally, I'm a mood reader. So some years, I completely bypass the holiday books completely.
