Ask anything else and I'll try to help, I answered some in the SPOILER brackets all the way at the top. It was a confusing mess, some of you are killing me, it's so cute to see this big mess. It was very stressful on the brain I agree.

Grunt slept with Jan and one of the two boys belong to Gtunt & not Blu. Kit did not know that Grunt is son of Grizz. I really hope Grizz is alive, that would be just perfect!! lol

so that's make mimi and grunt half- brothers/sisters right?
and kit's second child jason is grizz's grandson
so mimi is now jason's half sister from his mother and also an aunt?

i'm confused at this part: blue rescued grunt from his sister and her husband. grunt is a neglected child. if he's grizz's son , how come grunt is living with blue's sister. or is this a lie? i can't remember who told this story to kit

I think I need to reread this book. Maybe there are some hidden clues I missed. Loved this story!!

The scene at the office was Grizz getting to have a last visit with Blue before his execution. He was dressed normally and they were playing chess. It was obvious that Grizz got this special favor, even on death row.

Jan DID really sleep with Grunt and that is her second son. Earlier in the book, when Kit met Jan, she thought to herself that the older son looked like Blue and the younger son looked like a young version of Grunt. That was the first clue. Jan also acted very possessive of Grunt to Kit...threatened her not to hurt him or be attracted to him (remember?) or Grizz might find out....(she probably was jealous herself)

There were actually two secrets that Kit didn't know and would not want anyone to find out. The first is that Grunt is Grizz's son (Grizz must have slept with Blue's mother) The second is that Jan and Blue's second son is Grunt's son. Blue specifically told Grizz that he thinks Grunt had been playing all of them the whole time. The look inside Grunt's head in the prologue of the next book is that Grunt was assigned to accompany Grizz and look after Kit since she was young. He loved her himself all this time and was just waiting for the opportunity to be with her once Grizz was out of the way for good.

Yup that was part of the many questions I have that needs answers. I mean c'mon Beth Flynn really killed Grizz?!?! I love him!

I believe the story about Blue's sister mistreating Grunt is made up so everyone believes he is Blue's little brother. It was probably Candy who was the one who was abusing Grunt and then she came back to tell Grizz when she was clean and wanted to see Grunt.

Grizz would probably have been about 14-16 when he had Grunt so he would be about 30-32 in the start of this book.

But here's a question: Grunt was about 9 when he came to live at the motel right? So he must have known Blue wasn't his brother...I mean by age 9 you know who your family is...so who did he think his was?

Did Grunt know the truth about who his parents were before the end of the book??

The big secret the way I see it is a 2 parter.the 1st is that Grunt is Grizz' s son, the 2nd is that Grizz found out how Kit lost her virginity.

I could be wrong, but I took it to mean that Grunt is Grizzs son and not Blues brother. Now I'm confused. I think I'm right. And I think Grunt knew he was Grizzs son before she showed up. But I don't know if Grizz knew he knew.
In hindsight the sister would have known Blue. So Grizz must've slept with Blues mom. Oh this just got ickier. Still love it though.
Now I've reread. Something is off. If Blue thought Grunt was Grizzs brother until that week before the execution, than its impossible for Blue to be his brother, too. Maybe Grunt didn't know until after he'd gotten him locked up. But was Candy really Blues ex or Grunts mom?

I hoped Grizz would live but I think he's really dead. Any retaliation in book two can come from Blue. Brother or not, Grunts actions would fuel Blues anger.

I liked Grizz too. But only in how he loved her. In every other way he was a broken violent person.

So, when Candy came to the motel was she looking for Grunt and not Blue. As she is Grunts mother and not Blues crazy ex.

The first part of your question, Is he really dead? My thoughts exactly. That would definitely make book 2 more interesting. I feel like I need to re-read it again to maybe clear some things up.
