I'm pretty new to group reads but that sounds good to me.
It seems in other group reads they read a few chapters a day then talk about them. If you have a preferred method, I'm open to it.

I'm down for that

For me April would be best but happy to be flexible.
I think @Frances, @Adele..."
I have slightly over committed with Buddy Reads and book groups etc. Would anyone consider delaying this until maybe June?
I completely understand if not - fire ahead and I'll catch up on the comments when I get around to it.

It would be wonderful to have the month / year in the buddy read titles (unless they are going to be ongoing threads?) for those who are coming in late.
Example:
Moby Dick Buddy Read - January 2021
If they are intended to be ongoing threads, then maybe just a message on this thread that is updated with the calendar? Just a thought. I'm excited to join in as soon as I figure out what is going on :)

- Please make suggestions for books you'd like to read here on this discussion thread so we can see if there is someone else that wants to join.
- I will then make the discussion thread with a timeframe in the title (example: Moby Dick Buddy Read - May 2021)
- If the title is one that we have read in the group before, I will direct you to the already existing thread
Hopefully this will give more structure to the buddy reads in general. Always open to suggestions/critiques.

Vilette (July 2021)
Moby-Dick (August 2021)
War and Peace (September 2021) —I'm going to try the Maude translation

I am here to demonstrate that I am a slow learner or a glutton for punishment.
next up-
The Tale of Genji
any potential buddies?

I am interested! I am reading War and Peace this summer, so I would prefer to start in late 2021 or even 2022...

I've done some buddy reads before which made me realize how I prefer someone's company rather than reading alone. :)
Hi!!! does anyone want to buddy read we were liars with me?? Sorry if you have already done it, I'm pretty new here

Hi Stuti! I haven't read Fahrenheit 451 since high school so I can buddy read with you in July!

Awesome! I was thinking of starting July 1st. Does that work for you?

Hey! Thank you for the wonderful suggestion. I have already bought the book but the idea sounds tempting. I have never listened to audiobooks before and I'm curious.

You're in for a treat either way. Bradbury's writing is so good. I'm finally reading 1984 this year, too :) My high school did Brave New World so I've been behind on my dystopian classics for years!

That's awesome! Do you have any ideas/suggestions in terms of the Biddy Read?

Stuti, Bethany, Newly and those that want to read Fahrenheit 451, please start your buddy read in the discussion post here. It can also be found in the Classics folder.

Hey all so I'm in the process of reading all the Dickens Novels in publication order throughout 2021.
I'm starting Martin Chuzzlewith today 26th May (I know short notice!) and hoping to finish by 16th June.
I'm jumping in and out of the Dickensians group as well but my plan/schedule doesn't quite marry up with their group reads so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone is interested in joining me for any of the remaining books.
My Planned schedule is:
Martin Chuzzlewit 26 May - 16 Jun
Dombey and Son 18 Jun - 9 Jul
David Copperfield 11 Jul - 1 Aug (Think there's a current Buddy read thread for this one?)
Bleak House 3 Aug - 20 Aug
Hard Times 22 Aug - 3 Sep
Little Dorrit 5 Sep - 28 Sep
A Tale of Two Cities - 1 Oct - 10 Oct
Great Expectations 12 Oct - 24 Oct
Our Mutual Friend 26 Oct - 18 Nov
The Mystery of Edwin Drood 20 Nov - 3 Dec
I'm reading the Wordsworth Classics editions and I've tried to schedule it so it's approximately 40 pages a day or roughly 3 chapters depending on the book.
The schedule is flexible - if a book takes me a day or two longer to finish than planned then that's no stress.
Anyway if anyone is interested jump in and let me know :)

Mid afternoon already - but I would like to join you in reading Martin Chuzzlewit if that’s ok with you, Laura.

I don't know how many we need for a thread - maybe one more? Otherwise we can just message as we go. :)
