What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

So I read this book probably close to 15 years ago when I was in late elementary school/early middle school but... SPOILERS AHEAD... this girl is (I believe) a candle maker's daughter (I vaguely remember something about wicks but I could be totally wrong) who goes to work for an ailing king, who then reveals to her at the end of the book that he has 11 toes just like she does and she's actually his biological daughter and the heir to the throne.

But the king's right hand man doesn't like this and tries to capture her but she goes on the run through tunnels under the castle. The only other thing I think I can remember is it's part of a series. But I don't remember how many books there were either.
