Read-a-thon (Nov: 11-24)
As mentioned in the MM19 thread, I wanted help/support in finishing off my MM19 challenge before the new edition of Bookopoly starts (1 Dec) so that's my main focus area with 9 books. So, really, it's doable, right?!
Resonance -Read 100 pages on last day
🗸 344p - Beneath a Marble Sky -Read 11/22
🗸 389p - Playing with Fire (Skulduggery Pleasant #2) -Read 11/23
Behind the Sun (Convict Girls #1)
The Hidden
Falling Angels
🗸 350p - Sunset Shadows (Goodabri #3) -Read 11/21
Southern Ruby OR Lyrebird

I am not likely to set any personal records, though, since it's November.

I finished the book I was reading.
107p The Pearl Sister [11-nov-19] ★★★★

is that ok tien?
That's fine, Dee. You don't really have to post your plan only if you want to as most usually would like to do ;p

Ok! I'll probably get to it early next week. I'll post it in Buddy Reads when I'm ready, too.

No worries, Tien, thanks for fixing it - I need the encouragement to read at the moment!

What is everyone else reading?
Lagullande, you can do it!
I have several books going.
Jazz for Found and Monthly as well as RwS and SRC old games
The Huntress for Found and SRC
Neverwhere for Found and RwS
Last Train to Istanbul for SRC
Stars of Fortune because I like Nora Roberts

I've finished a couple of short audiobooks though neither for MM19 (which is the whole point of this for me!)... :/
I did start Beneath a Marble Sky for MM19 - only 10% and so far, I'm a bit ambivalent about it... early days yet.

5 days later and I find that I'm finishing other books BUT my MM19 ones! I'm "currently reading" 3 of my MM19 books but it's not going anywhere fast ha ha ha

I'm doing good with MM19. I have read 3 out of 4 MM19 books and will start reading the last book today or tomorrow.
argh, at least you're doing well, Lusie...
To be fair, I've been mostly 'finishing' audiobooks so 'multi-tasking' there lol

Although I am happy to be participating in this read-a-thon, the start took me by surprise and I was not prepared with a list of books for my challenges. As a result, my goal of finishing a bunch of the PnM challenges, just has not worked out. Instead I have been reading the library books I had on my desk and others that have come in.
So far, I have finished 7 books and have 4 more that I know for sure will be completed. Given that my reading fell off the last 2 weeks of October, I am pleased.

All of you are doing better than I am. I declared my last LOST book DNF after 159 pages that were pure torture, so technically I'm done with that. But since the widget doesn' show it that way, I'll probably choose to read the next one on the list before I declare myself done. Now reading a second book for this month's shelf, and enjoying it. But for some reason, I'm reading very slowly these couple weeks. Sorry not to be accomplishing much for the group goal.

At least you are finishing lots of books, Bea.
Susan, sorry your last lost book was torture. You was able to hang on for a long time, and I don't blame you for not finishing it. If i don't like it i usually give it 80-100 pages before I give up. I haven't read any books for the shelf of the month and don't think I have time for it.
My last lost book is the third in a series, so I have to read the other books first.
I have finished 2 more books. One was for the PAS Monthly Shelf for November. And, happy days, I am making headway on the Zen book, which will finish Wheel 3.
@ Susan: I don't use the widgit for that very reason. Once I read a book or DNF it, I remove it from my shelf. Any pages read helps...even the ones you read before DNF'g the book.
@ Lusie: Some series can be read out of order. Too bad this one doesn't feel that way to you.

This is my last year using the widget, too. It just makes me frustrated as it looks like my reading list was not finished when the truth is I chose to DNF a book.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish that last MM19 book before the end of our read a thon, since it has got about 700 pages. But I'll do my best! I really like it so far.
Question regarding audiobooks: I finished one already that had printed editions. I was able to use the most popular edition for my page count calculation. (I had started that audiobook before the read-a-thon start date.) However, now I am listening to a short audiobook (2+ hours) that has no printed edition. How do I do page count for that?
Dee wrote: "i use roughly 30pgs per audio for audiobook (based on many years of listening)"

Well done everyone! Look at all those pages ;-)
Dee wrote: "yeah that...sorry typed pre coffee"
LOL. Thanks. Unless Tien disagrees, I will go with that. Thus my 2h 13m audiobook will be 67 pages.

Three days to go, and I am beginning to weary. I will finish one more book - the Zen one.
That will leave me with 3 books in progress. I am sure I will get some pages read, but I will not be pushing to complete them.
Tomorrow I have a local history class to attend, mulch to put around the bushes, and I just HAVE to get the car vacuumed of all the dog hair. (I anticipate that will take an hour or so.) Saturday I have a Thanksgiving dinner to attend with one of my groups and a dish to make to take.
So...I will not be able to spend a lot of time on this read-a-thon. As of right now, I am close to 2400 pages read and 10 books completed.

Finished my 2nd MM19 book & have started my 3rd.
Looks like I'm just getting my wind, Bea, though I have something on tonight and tomorrow night too so may not have that much time to read either this weekend but I can try ;)

Bea, you've done fantastic! I am super jealous of the Thanksgiving dinner ;-) Love me a bit of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce!

(wherever you are)
GOALS:
1. Create your own reading challenge focus (ie. pick a challenge to focus on for this readathon - preferably a PAS one)
2. Team goal of 50,000 pages*
*We did about 20K a couple of years ago in 7 days so figured we double it up & ramped it up a bit ;)
Additional Notes:
a. You can start readathon from the middle of a book you're reading; just count the pages you read during the readathon's timeframe for the page count. If you didn't finish reading at the end of the week, same applies (count pages you read during the week)
b. Social Media? Let's tag it #PASreadathon19
