Blogger Lift discussion

Hi, everyone! This is my first post in this group. So, I started a blog about a year ago but only really started getting serious about it about a month or so ago. Would you mind checking it out and letting me know if you can think of anything I missed, or anything that could be better? Thanks so much!

I really love your background and color scheme of your blog! The design is great. The only thing that I can think of to improve it is to make a header, but only if you want to. I think you can make a really good header to enhance the theme of your blog. If you need help, look at this tutorial.
My best advice is to keep posting regularly, like once a week or so.

As Helen said you do have a very beautiful blog and the contents are good as well! Important thing for any blog is an about the blogger widget. Don't leave it out for any reason.
You should also increase the font size a bit more. It seems like a really basic advice, but when the words look cluttered, the posts look bigger than they actually are and many people are reluctant to read long posts.
Another thing, add a followers widget for your blog. It can be seen in gadgets under more gadgets at the end of the page. It will help in building your readers.

Helen: Wow, thanks for the link - that tutorial looks really helpful. One of these days I'll sit down and make a header. I'm kind of afraid to do it. That will be one of my holiday goals!

Lakshmi: Thanks for the feedback! I'll work on fixing the text once I have time. Do I have to go back through them all manually, or is there a quicker way? As for the followers widget, I don't actually have any followers. Once I do, then I'll put it up. Until then, I think it just looks sad. :)
Oh, and what do you mean by the "blogger widget?" Is there a specific widget named blogger?

This is a tutorial for changing post text size in one go.
The code will work. But I would use the first method that they've given. That's the one for changing post text size.
The second method is for the other texts that you have on your sidebar and any other text other than the post text.
Oops! I mean the Blogger Profile widget. I see you have an about me page already, but it is advisable to have that widget.
You are right. But without the followers widget it would be impossible to follow you.

The only thing I think is a drawback in your blog is it's hard for me to read anything on your sidebar or the comments section. It's practically invisible. Maybe your should change the black and red texts to a more lighter color?

I like the image at the top, but I find the actual posts a little hard to read, with everything surrounding them- I think your blog would look better if you spaced it out a little more. :D

Lakshmi: Okay, I added the widgets and increased the size of my text. Thanks for the tips! As for your blog, the header is very pretty. You might want to experiment with the colors in your main feed, because the bright colors on the gray are a little hard on the eyes.

Rose: Thanks! Like Lakshmi said, the side text is pretty hard to read. Also, I'd make the main part of your blog wider so it's easier to read. I really love your background!

I agree that a header would make all the difference and a bit of space to get rid of the 'noise' would be nice . I really liked your content - Teaser Tuesday is fun! I would suggest adding your blog to Bloglovin' - that way it's easier to follow you.

I like the theme and design, I would be weary about the number of memes you post. I see the monotonous post schedule of: meme, meme, review, meme, meme, review. Try to break it up by adding bookish movie reviews perhaps? Maybe some discussion posts? Talk about bookish news? Do tags? Musings? Just suggestions. Great job!

I like it a lot, but there's too much scrolling to get to the end of the blog, so I think you should show about 4 posts on the home page. If you go to settings, then Posts & Comments (I think that's what it's called), you can change the number of posts displayed on the home page. Other than that, I really like your blog and I followed you :)

I love your blog! The only thing I would change is the green text color, it's a little hard on the eyes, but the orange and everything else looks amazing :D

Cari: Thanks for the feedback and the follow! I changed it to five posts a page. Does that look better? As for your blog, it looks really good! There are only two things I really see to suggest changing, and neither absolutely need it. First, the two different backgrounds in the header are kind f confusing when you try to read it - my first read-through, I thought it said "my books!"
Second, the black highlighting of the white words in the plot synopsises is a little hard in the eyes. Other than that, it looks really good!
