Was the illustration style realistc, cartoony, colorful, etc?

I did find out what it was, LINT by Chris Ware. The same author of The Acme Novelty Library, THE SMARTEST KID ON EARTH

The stories come in a big box, like a Monopoly box. The stories inside the box are printed in forms of booklets, newspaper, etc. The concept is quite different.
Congrats on finding your book
It's about an average man's life, from birth to death and it's visually told as though you were in his mind, looking at his thoughts and his perception on the world. It's set in modern times in a regular first world country. The first page is a diagram on how to read the book because it's so unique!
The first page of the story is a flash of colours which can be translated into the characters birth. Then, for the next pages after take place during his infancy and youth, the images and language are very basic to match the mentality of his age. We see things like his mothers funeral, he wants to change his name, his new mom, his first time masturbating, etc. Normal life drama.
His teen years he is very angsty, and he ends up accidentally killing his best friend in a car crash due to impaired driving.
He's very sad, grows up hates his job and life. Gets into coke and tries music. Life sucks. THEN he Falls in love life is wonderful. Detail in the images are at their peak. Finds faith in God.
He has two kids. Cheats on his wife. Loses everything. Marries again, makes lots of money from computers. Not sure if he's happy or not. Has more children and a young wife. Still feels lots. Gets old. Dies.
abstract image to represent his death..
LOVE THIS BOOK. CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE CHARACTER NAME WHICH IS THE TITLE OF THE BOOK. it's a totally normal guy name. Jason> Thomas? UGH.
I think that mad magazine did a parody of it! but even then, that's no help to me!
