Hideaway - June 2020 Book of the Month (Spoiler Zone)

A family ranch in Big Sur country and a legacy of Hollywood royalty set the stage for Nora Roberts’ emotional new suspense novel.
Caitlyn Sullivan, a daughter of Hollywood royalty, was already a star at ten, but still loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared.
Despite her glamorous background, Cate was a shrewd, scrappy survivor, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bruised and terrified girl huddled in his ranch house kitchen—but when the teenager and his family heard her story they provided refuge and comfort, reuniting her with her loved ones.
Cate’s ordeal, though, was far from over. First came the discovery of a betrayal that would send someone she’d trusted to prison. Then there were years away in Ireland, sheltered and protected but with restlessness growing in her soul. Then, finally, she returned to Los Angeles, hoping to act again and get past the trauma that had derailed her life. What she didn’t yet know was that two seeds had been planted that long-ago night—one of a great love, and one of a terrible vengeance…
Hey everyone! I’ve got GREAT news🎉🎉🎉
First, we now have a book description, which I’ve added to the opening message above.
More importantly, St. Martin’s Press is sponsoring another ARC sweepstakes for 50 winners in this group! It will run from 3/2/20 through 3/9/20. I’ll provide the link on the start date.

That is wonderful news! Thank you for the information and I will for sure keep my eyes peeled for the link!

Wow, great!

Don’t worry...I’ll be sending out a broadcast message so just check your private messages on March 2.

I believe it’s international rules that prevent the publisher from doing the sweepstakes. As I said above, I will pursue.

:-( still thank you. I noticed there were huge changes a few years ago and now the restrictions for European readers (especially from Germany) are even bigger - but that's something neither you nor the publishers have an influence on. Still it's really sad.

It's very sad, especially as they don't seem to benefit anyone...just shut down an outlet for readers.

I finished this last week and really enjoyed it. I’ll elaborate more when we open it for discussion in June. In the meantime, here’s my review.
Since so many of us already received ARCs and have read the book, open discussion will begin on June 5.

Dawn since you listened to it and are an audiobook user/listener, were you aware of all that is involved in being a narrator? I had no clue.
January LaVoy is in my top five favorite narrators and is probably my most favorite female narrator. She was perfect in this one.

Margaret wrote: "That was a favorite part of the book for me, learning about voice acting. I had no idea what was involved and found it very interesting. Nora always comes up with cool jobs to give her characters!"
It was so fitting that LaVoy be the narrator of this story.
One of the things I like about Nora’s books is the jobs she details. I always learn something.

I’m glad you specifically enjoyed the audio format, Cookie! It’s such a pleasure in the hands of a good narrator.
