Heather L (wordtrix) | 780 comments I’m using 100 Classic Short Stories for this one. I’ve been working on it for a while, and figure one-third of the 1900 pages is more than enough to count. Stories range in length from 4-60 pages, and across different genres and centuries. While I’ve read many of the included authors before, I’ve only read a few of these stories previously, such as “The Gift of the Magi,” “The Legend if Sleepy Hollow,” and “The Yellow Wallpaper.”

Harry Patrick | 109 comments I used Patriotism, Democracy and Common Sense: Restoring America's Promise at Home and Abroad byAlan Curtis for this one. It's a collection of essays on various topics published in 2005 I was amazed at how little has changed in our body politic since then.

Claire (lecari) | 26 comments For this I read At Death's Door, an anthology of 24 short stories centered around death, collated and edited by Pixie Forest Publishing. They were all really high quality, well written stories!

They have two other anthologies that I've read since, and also really enjoyed - Love Dust, with romance stories, and Magical Reality, with fantasy stories.

Magical Reality by Pixie Forest Publishing Love Dust by Donise Sheppard At Death's Door by Elizabeth Joyce

Rebecka | 24 comments I recommend The Long Gaze Back: An Anthology of Irish Women Writers. I read it a few years ago and is well worth a read!

message 160: by Delia (new)

Delia (dc1984) I read The Classic Slave Narratives for this prompt.

message 161: by Felicity (new)

Felicity would "One Thousand and One Nights/Arabian Nights" count for this challenge? I mean the translations are all by Sir Richard Burton but the stories themselves are from a variety of sources

message 162: by Cornerofmadness (new)

Cornerofmadness | 810 comments I chose a YA spec fic anthology Young Explorer's Adventure Guide, Volume 5 by Sean Weaver

message 163: by Janette (new)

Janette (janettes07) | 42 comments Would Intimations work for this prompt?

message 164: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Evans (bamalibrarylady) I read "Running, Eating, Thinking: A Vegan Anthology" by Martin Rowe.

message 165: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn | 1 comments Thinking either one of my many F Scott collections or Stories for Late at Night, from Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The Hitchcock collection is so appropriate for the season!

message 166: by Ashley Marie (last edited Oct 16, 2020 05:55AM) (new)

Ashley Marie | 1028 comments Would Angela Y Davis's Freedom Is a Constant Struggle count? It's a collection of her various essays, speeches, and interviews from several years ago. I don't read anthologies often so I'm not sure what counts vs what doesn't.

message 167: by Anshita (new)

Anshita (_book_freak) | 271 comments I'm reading Fresh Ink: An Anthology edited by Lamar Giles. I read the first two stories and was completely smitten.

message 168: by Virginia (new)

Virginia (dogdaysinaz) | 52 comments I listened to AOC: The Fearless Rise of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and What It Means for America.

I meant to listen to that and I totally forgot! I'll find somewhere for it next year. :)
