AuroraBlaze | 55 comments So this kid grew up by a SAS training area, or something, and at night he would sneak into it and go on the obstacle course. He got pretty good at it. And then he's on a ship in a fleet, and they get fired on, and a bunch of friends die, and later, around a fire, the survivors start talking about where they wish they could be, and he says with his friends and that kills the mood. And in the end he flies a plane.

When did you read it or when was it published? What is SAS?

Ashley | 0 comments SAS is a British military unit that trains mainly in the Brecon Beacons in Wales. (All my knowledge derived from Stormbreaker and the Alex Rider books) though from the description I dont think this is the series being looked for as his circumstances arriving at the SAS training are different.

AuroraBlaze | 55 comments I think I read it within the past 5 years. I'm not positive it is the SAS, it's just some kind of special forces training camp. Yeah, it's not Alex Rider. I don't know if it's a series or not. And I think the kid might maybe have been Chinese. Maybe not though.

Was it part of a series?
Time period/location the story takes place?
Anything about the cover?

AuroraBlaze | 55 comments That's it, thanks! :)
