Ridgeville Series: Volume One
Quick and Furry Collection

Those are the series that I first thought of--I was on my phone and couldn't do a more detailed post. There's also, now that I have a tablet to work on, Zoe Chant, Vivian Arend and Eve Langlais that I've enjoyed.

Rye | 5 comments You are missing out if you haven't tried the Southern Sanctuary Series by Jane Cousins

No shifters but magic, heaps of laughs and an excellent supporting eccentric cast of characters. And the main couples are awesome with snappy dialogue.
Start with book one - To Woo A Warrior To Woo A Warrior (Southern Sanctuary, #1) by Jane Cousins

Amyiw | 177 comments Argeneau Vampires
A Quick Bite (Argeneau #1) by Lynsay Sands , Single White Vampire (Argeneau #3) by Lynsay Sands The Accidental Vampire (Argeneau #7) by Lynsay Sands Love Bites (Argeneau #2) by Lynsay Sands ...
It stays pretty good for about the first 20 then humor slides.

message 8: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 39 comments Yea that series is great I’ve read like the first several book of that series I might re-read them again

message 9: by Amyiw (new)

Amyiw | 177 comments Did you try Laurenston's Dragon Kin series, written under G.A. Aiken
Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken About a Dragon (Dragon Kin, #2) by G.A. Aiken What a Dragon Should Know (Dragon Kin, #3) by G.A. Aiken Last Dragon Standing (Dragon Kin, #4) by G.A. Aiken
The humor and story gets convoluted with the last ones but the first half, I thought was a hoot.

message 10: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 39 comments Yes I’ve read some of that series. I enjoyed the first few books in that series.

message 11: by Isoellen (new)

Isoellen Isoellen Oh, I enjoyed it. There are a couple there I wanted to reread!

Amyiw | 177 comments Um... hm...
How about Kerrelyn Sparks
How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks Vamps and the City (Love at Stake, #2) by Kerrelyn Sparks The Undead Next Door (Love at Stake, #4) by Kerrelyn Sparks Be Still My Vampire Heart (Love at Stake, #3) by Kerrelyn Sparks Secret Life of a Vampire (Love at Stake, #6) by Kerrelyn Sparks Forbidden Nights with a Vampire (Love at Stake, #7) by Kerrelyn Sparks All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire (Love at Stake, #5) by Kerrelyn Sparks
I really liked some of those but not as much as the first half of Argeneau.

Some people like Katie MacAlister, I don't get her humor. Or First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones, for me her humor is trying too hard or something.

The first few Queen Betsy's were fun
Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson Undead and Unemployed (Undead, #2) by MaryJanice Davidson Undead and Unappreciated (Undead, #3) by MaryJanice Davidson

also the trilogy
Slouch Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, #1) by Helen Harper Star Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide To Magic, #2) by Helen Harper Spirit Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide To Magic #3) by Helen Harper Sparkle Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, #3.5) by Helen Harper
was really fun

Brittany | 39 comments I’ve read the Argeneau series up to book 10 I think. And Love at Stake series 1-9.Havent read any of Kate Macalister books or Darynda Jones books . I’ll have to look them up. Plus the other mentions. Thanks for the recommendations. I now have some books added to my TBR and to TBRR ( to be reread)

Julian Adorney | 16 comments I haven't read Shelly Laurenston Magnus Pack and Pride series or Dana Marie Bell Halle Shifter series's, but:

I just reread Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost--really excellent PNR, and I laughed out loud a few times. The heroine is super sassy, especially as she gets her feet under her and gets more comfortable in her adventure. I don't know if Beautiful Ashes is like Pack and Pride or Shifter, but based on the title of this thread I'd recommend it :)

It's also part 1 in a series.

Robin (rockin_robin) | 81 comments Raquel wrote: "I really loved Laurenstons crow series. It had lol the right elements, humor, romance, kick butt females, and hunks. Looking for a similar series. Any suggestions?"

GA Aiken is another pen name Laurenston writes under. She has the Dragon Kin series and I just finished The Blacksmith Queen which looks like it is set in the same world as Dragon Kin.

Christine Warren has a couple of paranormal series-- a shifter based that's comparable to Laurenston's Others series, and a Gargoyle series . I didn't care for the last couple of her Gargoyles books but the first 3 were good and the fourth was decent.

Jacqueline Frank has a Nightwalker series, first book is Jacob.

Jane Cousins has Southern Sanctuary which is great in terms of kick ass heroines.

Amyiw | 177 comments I don't really consider it PNR, more UF but Kate Daniels, Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews , series by definitely has an element of humor mixed in though not one of the first categories for certain. One of my LOL funniest scenes is from her 7th boook, Magic Breaks Also UF and humorous but not humor is Hounded (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne , the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne. The dog Oberon is very funny though the series is not to everyone's taste.

I think paranormal with humor is my favorite genre, whether fantasy, scifi, UF.

There is Sandman Slim, Sandman Slim (Sandman Slim, #1) by Richard Kadrey which is dark but definitely humorous, dark humor. I was laughing literally out loud and thinking that I really shouldn't be laughing at that. I never went to the 2nd book because it was just a little too dark for my tastes but if you like UF (not PNR) and a little dark, it would be for you. I may some day try the second on for size as tastes change.
