There's a sun on that cover? It needs to be prominent and easy to identify. Sorry, but no.

Would this book cover work? The author is looking upwards.

That is not a face in profile. That is a frontal view of the face.

I'm assuming that only Sun can be used, or can you use something like Sunrise?

There is a formal rule for that - no imbedding.

Plurals are allowed. Review the rules in the main challenge thread for the details of what plurals are acceptable.

Grainne Coughlan | 1312 comments Thank you :) I will check the main rules.

Christina ❤️M❤️ (christir1159) | 1 comments Could I use our buddy read Dragon Keeper (Rain Wilds Chronicles, #1) by Robin Hobb for the Sun on cover task?

I have This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger prepared to read for it, but one down early would be nice.

I am reading The Sparrow (The Sparrow, #1) by Mary Doria Russell I think that is supposed to be a sun of another planet. If this one would work that would be awesome also.

I'll say no to Dragon Keeper. You don't really see the sun, rather light from it - so it's presence is implied.

The other two are fine.

Sorry but that straw is too flimsy. The profile is not the focus of the page. It's really quite tiny and if you look at it closely, the head is turned more upwards and frontal.

It would work for the blue dress task if you have it.

Annerlee | 2873 comments Janice wrote: "Sorry but that straw is too flimsy" ...

Haha. Thought as much. I've already crossed off the 'blue dress' card, so I'll just be happy with reading The Beekeeper's Apprentice for the group read. 😉

Hey Cherie - I don't know if you have read a book for the History, Yay - nurse is the MC, but I just read The Deep and it was very good. The MC is a nurse on the Britannic during WWI. The Britannic is the sister ship to the Titanic and the author weaves both ships into the story with a little spooky.

Do you have the task with the setting 1900-1920, let's see that's card 2, history, nay. That's the task I used it for.

I saw your book post and I am going to add it to my list when I get onto my lap top. I caught the title and had to open it see the cover because several of us have read a book with the same title for the “whale on the cover” task. 😉

Haha. I've used card 2 on the first two badges as well. Hmm. Will have to give this some serious thought and see if I can easily re-arrange some card 3 reads.

Those look like scones with clotted cream and preserves.

I read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. It's an easy quick read.

Katrisa | 4475 comments No worries - I couldn't tell quite what they were. I am trying to find books for some of the harder tasks because I'm sure my random reading won't be turning up too many pumpkins or cookies :)

I will totally see if my library has Chocolate chip cookie murder!
