2020 Personal Challenge

Hi Judith, you could try the following:
To verify your email address, click on your profile picture and select Account Settings. Then navigate to your Settings tab. If your email address isn't verified, you'll see a red message next to it - click "re-send verification email" and follow the instructions in the email you receive.
If this doesn't solve the problem or if you don't see the the "re-send verification email" option, I suggest that you contact Goodreads by sending an email to [email protected]

I am having difficulty setting up my 2020 challenge. I cannot get into the appropriate folder to set up my challenge. Please advise..
Thank you,Marjorie

Hope this helped :-)

Marjorie, links do not tend to work in the app. I would advice you to try it again using the browser on your ipad or pc.

It might help to (re-)verify your email address: (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...). If that doesn't help, I would suggest contacting Goodreads at [email protected]

Best of luck, Felicia!

You can just continue in the same thread and ask one of us mods to move your thread to another folder if you want to, but its also fine to stay in the same one. The topics are grouped by reading goal, not necessarily by the actual amount of books read. :)

That is entirely up to you Rick. Do you want a safe goal that you can easily reach? Go for 20. Do you want a more challenging year? Set your target to 30. :) Feel free to change your goal during the year, if the number chosen ends up being too low or too high.

As links usually do not work in the app, you can go to the group home page and navigate from there to the right folder. Once you click on the folder you should see the option to create a new topic.

That is a decision that only you can make, Fallan! Just remember, you can always adjust goal during the year :)

You are welcome to count them, Heather. Best of luck with your reading challenge!

Best of luck with your challenge, Juana! :)

Starting with The Hunchback of Notre-Dame"
A great classic! Best of luck, Cosmic!

Absolutely! I personally count my books from whenever I finish reading them (or in worst case scenario: DNF), not from when I start them :)
You should do whatever makes sense for you, Rebecca :)

That is great :) (the books not the brain fart)
Here is a link your personal challenge: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
If you are on the website, there should be an edit button in the right bottom corner of your first post.

thanks in advance! xx

Hi Jude, we mods can indeed move a topic to another folder :) Just post here or send one of us a message if you would like us to move something!

I'm on a break from college now, but the second semester starts in March and I think it will be really hard for me to keep up the pace.
Either way, I hope I can reach my goal!

Though I'm almost halfway done, and i don't know if i can expend my challenge, is that possible??

Sakshi, if you go to the official Goodreads reading challenge page (https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/...), there is a small Edit button next to the sentence "You have read xx out of xx books". This will allow you to change your goal for 2020. Hope this helps!

How many books are you going to challenge yourself to read? Create your own discussion topic and tell us what your goal is. Then, throughout the year, track your progress.
How to create your discussion topic for your challenge:
- Choose how many books you would like to read
- Go to the appropriate folder:
1-25 books
26-50 books
51-75 books
76-100 books
101-200 books
200+ books
- Click "new topic" near the top of the page
- In the "topic" box, write the name of your topic. We encourage you to come up with an original title, but it should have both your name and the number of books you plan to read.
- In the comment box, write your first post, and click “post”
- Bookmark the topic in your browser!
And you're all set! Post here if you have any questions.
Good luck to all!
