Hello everyone,

Some changes are about to be underway - brace yourselves!

I’ve decided to stick to this current group for 2020 rather than making a new group each year. Gulp!

I’ve been spying on other groups - shh, don’t tell! - and I’ve seen how challenges can run year to year in the same group. I will be learning as I go, but this saves you the hassle of jumping from new group to new group.

I feel this would make our group easier to find, and easier to participate in after long periods of time.

The Changes:

The group will be called ‘Read Scotland’ so it’s URL always stays the same. By doing this, our group will be easier to find and join I hope! The logo will continue to be ‘Read Scotland 2020’ etc.

I will label all this year’s challenges as e.g. ‘1-5 Books 2019’. Then I’d create a whole new bunch of folders under the current names e.g. ‘Macbeth 1-5 Books’. You’d set up your 2020 reading challenges there.

(I’ve also got a new challenge coming up, but that’s for 2020!)

Now, our current group is very neat right now, and I’m about to muck that up a bit. There’ll be new folders that will make things a tiny bit messier, but nothing else in my life is tidy - as we’ve learnt earlier this year I’ve got goats - so I will probably thrive on the chaos. I will also be here all the time to help you navigate the new group format.

I hope this all makes sense and I really, really hope this works!
Any questions, comment below.
Ellen :)

Elliot | 51 comments Hey Ellen, I think it's a great idea to keep the group the same year to year. I'm in a few other groups where we have different folders for the yearly challenges and it works really well.

Thanks for doing a good job of moderating this group!
