Garrett Cook | 11 comments "In a city ridden with prostitute furries, cannibal cops and warehouse-sized mob bosses, I’ve got my work cut out for me. My name is Jimmy Plush. I’m a private detective. I’m also a teddy bear. It all started when the original Jimmy Plush entered my life, offering to take my gambling debts away if I agreed to switch bodies with him. But I didn’t know that being a three-foot-high plush toy would be such a living hell, especially now that everyone in town wants a piece of me. All I've gotten out of this deal is a faithful Chinese chauffeur, a custom teddybear .45, and a girlfriend who won't take off the fox suit she turns tricks in. Now I’ve got to keep this town clean and try to track down the real Jimmy Plush without losing my stuffing for good. Only one thing is for sure: Life is hard when you’re soft."
Jimmy Plush, Teddy Bear Detective is a high octane pulp satire. In the tradition of Sam Spade, The Shadow, Dick Tracy, Hellboy and Howard the Duck comes a new kind of hero, a hero that reminds us that the measure of a man is in his guts and his gun.
This character first appeared in The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction and now he's coming back, better than ever. I'm taking preorders for a special edition of this, which gets you a special story, an autographed copy and you're entered into a raffle to win your own stuffed handmade Jimmy Plush. Check it out at my blog:

Werner Garrett, I just tried the link above, and it appears to be a dead one. Also, a title search on Goodreads doesn't bring up anything for "jimmy plush;" is this "special edition" in book form?

Garrett Cook | 11 comments Yes, I'm taking PREORDERS. It will be coming out later. It's odd that that link is dead, as I just posted there two days ago. Try this one to find out more about Jimmy Plush: http://jimmyplush.blogspot.com
The Limited Edition teddy bear raffle is still on, and the bear will ship by Christmas as will some free ebook gifts to tide you over until the book sees print. There's only one of these Limited Editions left, however there are still regular preorder slots. The Limited Edition will also come with a free origin chapbook and will be both signed and numbered.

Werner Thanks, Garrett. Be sure to list the book here on Goodreads when it comes out! Since we have a few members in this group who write books, I've thought about creating a written-by-group-members shelf in our bookshelves, for those books that are relevant to pulp fiction; and your book is definitely one we should include there.

Garrett Cook | 11 comments My Murderland series is splatpunk Neopulp of sorts, so that might be appropriate for said shelf.

message 6: by Werner (new)

Werner Okay, I've set up that shelf! I've added Garrett's two Murderland books and any others by group authors that I knew about. So, if you've written a book in the pulp vein, or about pulp, be sure to post it there!
