Ugh yes. Good luck to you too!
I set it at 35 - a modest amount, then hit 50 and now I'm on 97 as well, filling in the end of the year with a few library books.

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments January is finally done. I read more than I thought I would and got into reading some free books from Voracious Readers. I am glad I read 4 australian authors. I'm not fussed with diversifying. I'm glad I split the genders. I hope next month I can knock out some good books.

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments Wow so...February was not a diverse month and I struggled to try and read books with more than 500 pages - I have been reading Black Leopard Red Wolf for so long now and I didn't finish it before February ended. I got into more digital books, which were so awfully rated that I regret reading some of them.

Interested to see what happens in the coming months. Already 1/3 to my goal and its only the 2nd month of the year. Bodes well for me.

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments March is finally done. I listened to a lot of audiobooks since the library is closed until the end of June.
A mix of female and male authors. I got through almost all of Seanan McGuire's books and I...didn't really enjoy them.
I did find 2 of my 2020 favourites this month. I have a feeling I might have one more in April coming up. Just past halfway through the book.
I finished the Scrabble challenge and have started round 2!

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments May is practically over and I have failed my reading challenge for this month lmao.
Anyway I'm glad I cut back on audiobooks. I am going to focus on the challenges for the next few months because it totals like 60 to 70 books and I will need to power through them. Plus it'll help me get through my physical collection since I need to either move or get a new housemate next year.

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments June is over. I did a really good job this month I think getting through some long-standing on-hold books (few months on hold). I did read a few books from the old Serial Reader and Mount TBR and decided to drop a few other books that I'll probably never read zzzz

Bought a lot more digital this month, however. Not so good.

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments July is over, my first year of doing reading rush ever. I really did a serious haul that week. I finished 6 books and read the remainder of a 7th book to finally get it off the ole tbr. I was going well with female authors then during reading rush just ended up reading more male authors again. I have no plans to diversify as my physical tbr, with the virus going on, is my real focus. It so happens that most of the recommended dark science fiction i ended up buying last year are by male authors.

August plans, to read some big books.

oshizu | 5762 comments Nice work exceeding your 2020 reading goal of 100 books so early in the year.

If you decide to increase your Goodreads Reading Challenge goal and wish to also be moved to a different personal challenge folder (101 to 200), just shoot me a message!

I know exactly how you feel!
This year, I started out with a goal of 101 books, lol!
In mid-June, I reached 100 books, then increased my Goodreads Reaching Challenge goal to 150. From the start, I knew I'd exceed 100 books but not 200, haha.

Anyway, if you change your mind, please send me a message. I don't always check all the threads in this folder. (Just click my name in this post to go to my profile then you can send me a message from there.)

No pressure, Celine, to move to the next folder.
Btw, you are positively killing the Color Challenge!

Bookworm (catsy2008) | 189 comments August has ended spectacularly. While I didn't really read audiobooks much last month (3 books), I finished 3 books that were over 500 pages with 2 of them being buddy reads. I was so proud of myself for that. As always, my reading seems to slowly shift back to male authors no matter what i do, i just end up picking a book off my shelf that is authored by a man. :l

anyway im hoping to make some dents in my shelves and reduce the purchasing im doing, read some good books this month as well and do some more buddy reading with friends.
