I have read a bunch of his books so will join in on the discussion when it gets going.

I remember reading in the You magazine years ago that a movie was being optioned for Artemis Fowl with Nicole Kidman playing Holly Short. Obviously this didn't happen. But Kidman as Holly?? Seriously? I would love there to be a movie though.

For those who've read it, who do you think would make a good Holly?

I must admit, I never cast the characters in books. I prefer the book over the movie every single time as my imagination does not have a budget limitation.

Which is your favourite character in the Fowl books? I adore Beckett, but Mulch is also one I always enjoy.

For me, characters are always the characters as they are in the books (with some of my imagination involved) and it is very rare that an actor will live up to them. But Nicole Kidman is just so very ill-suited for Holly. I think Emma Watson might do a decent job.

I've become very fond of all the good guys over the series. But I especially love Foaly, and Artemis of course!

I recently finished Artemis Fowl and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not much of a movie person and so do not try to cast characters.

Now for the rest of the series....

I can't imagine real people as characters for Artemis Fowl. They are all cartoon characters in my head!

Mulch is also a fav of mine :)
